		<description>These days their is not much difference between a software and a hardware load balancer, most of the low end vendors Kemp Technologies, Barracuda, Coyote Point, CAI &amp; Loadbalancer.org all provide hardware load balancers based on Linux or FreeBSD from around $2500. What many people don&#039;t realise is that it often requires an infrastructure change to apply hardware load balancing (In the same way that a hardware firewall does). Blatant link to my company coming :-). But this web page is a good overview of the load balancing options :
