I had 1and1 and when I went to cancel the account they couldn't cancel it over the phone nor could they take a payment over the phone. It is not worth using them. For your average person use another web host.

They have locked our servers due to DOS attacks. But their fraud department that can unlock them is ONLY available 9-5 EST time. The problem is that my tech guys are in Manila on a different time zone. And, the information they give me about who can handle this when the fraud department is incorrect. We will be moving from them as soon as we possibly can and will never return. warning!!!! do NOT use them. this is an insanely stupid policy and we have been down for 3 days because of this.

I have found this company's customer service absolutely atrocious. We signed for MyWebsite with 1and1 and found it not user friendly. We cancelled it during the 30day trial and signed up with another provider. Unknown to us, 1and1 did not cancel the account as requested and continued to bill us. We contacted them again and was advised to cancel using a link they provided. It was the wrong link and wouldn't work and after a lot of emails,I got the correct link and thought the nightmare was over. We were wrong because the invoices continued to come in and after contacting 1and1 with evidence of the email they sent me following the cancellation ,they explained to me that the contract had not been cancelled within the trial period despite my contacting them timeously and hence will continue for a year. I am taking this up with the trading standards as I feel that 1amd1 are out to make money by whatever means possible. Their complaints department is a one Big joke!

Site has been with them for 3 weeks. Been down for 30+ hours now and they have no answer as to why. Keep hearing "sent off to my administrator." I cant talk to the amdin and the language barrier is difficult too....

As a long term (suffering) customer they tried to sneak my price up almost 50%. I tried to cancel but could not do so on the control panel so emailed customer support. They sent me a link which didn't work. I had to cancel my direct debit to stop payment. Their service was always terrible but this is beyond anything I imagined. Avoid.

I have 5 register domain with 1&1 domain company, in 12/8/11 I got an invoice them for my domain renewal I immediately make cancellation in the same day & got approve confirm from them, but they never refund $39.89 they charge to my discover card, after a few month I file a dispute just for this domain name but they Lock out all my other 4 domain contracts which been paid for years, and causing my business interruption, They send me a form trying to get my authorize signature for the dispute credit card charge and black mail me that if I don't do what they ask for they will lock down all my domain(my business link) for ever, this really piss me off. Any one out there have information of agency control these robber please do help. I need to result this problem ASAP If you have more than one domain register do not put them in same account they will Lock out all other not relate dispute contract & black mail you to pay or dead business.

This company is the biggest waste of our time and money. They have the most useless tech support I have ever experienced. I dread calling them every time we have an issue because it will take me so long to resolve the issue talking to them "support" that I probably could have figured it out myself. I cannot wait until we finalize the transfer from their services. It is so unacceptable I can't believe it. They crashed our SharePoint account and couldn't tell us a single bit of information regarding what happened, when it would be back up, or how they would fix it. All they keep saying is they "reassure" you it will get fixed. It is so frustrating. I can't believe I ever signed up with such a terrible company. I'd say we've been scammed.

I don't even have an account with 1&1 and just received a phone call from them (I designed our website with a different host). The rep on the other end of the line almost seemed like she refused to take "no" for an answer and didn't even really care that we already have an established site and host. We're happy with our host and have not desire to pack up an entire website (and contents) to move to a different server ... simply because they're "almost as popular as Go Daddy". Just from that phone call alone was enough to say, "I'm avoiding 1&1 altogether."

I have had ooads of problem with my exchnage hosting. The tech support is s a joke. The telephone support basically takes a message and cannot actually solve anything. E-mail support consist of a room of muppets who don't actually read what you have told them before sending out something chosen randomly from a script. Replying to their e-mails is pointless.
