Horrible Tech Support!
"Hostmonster might be good if you're just creating a web site for personal use, but if you're building a professional site... RUN! I manage several web sites for my clients and hosted all of them on HM. I had so many problems. HM forces you to contact their tech reps to set-up certain features that other hosts allow you to do yourself, such as creating a CNAME. I made the mistake of calling on Halloween and was told they were closed for the "holiday"! Seriously?! Isn't 24/7 customer service standard these days?! When I was finally able to speak with a tech rep, I had to EXPLAIN TO THEM how to set-up the CNAME because they had no idea what I was talking about. Unfortunately, I spoke to other webmasters/web designers who had the same problem with them. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!"

Bad customer care from Host Monster
"We've used HostMonster for almost 2 years now. They were good for most of that time but recently they have been terrible. Twice in the last 6 months, they've shut our services down, WITHOUT WARNING, for having too much stuff on the FTP. We supposedly have 300G of storage. The first time they shut us down, we had about 30G of stuff on there not related to the website (stuff we were transferring to clients). The second time we got shut down, we only had 6G of content on there! Both times with absolutely no warning. Then they sent us an e-mail informing us of the shut down after business hours so when you call back, they can't do anything for you til the next day. Meanwhile our website was offline, e-mail was down and no FTP. How lame is that???? If they had a problem with how much content we had on the FTP, they should at least send a warning e-mail... we would have had the stuff off within a few hours. Instead they chose to shut down our business. Awful!"

You get more & less than what you pay for
"We have a business that has been with HM for over a year now. For the most part it has done it's job well. However recently, one of our big clients was getting all his E-mails to our accounts kicked back. I opened a ticket with HM tech support. They asked me & then our client to do & try several things to no avail. As time went buy we were having out business hurt by this situation. I also noticed that it was often a different tech's name (first name only & a generic one at that). Our client gave us the direct number to his tech so we asked for HM techs to call, but they never did. I went to the live chat with a tech & found out. "No, they do not have individual numbers and cannot be contacted outside of phone, chat or ticket support." The problem is phone leads to next available tech. There is not tech assigned to a problem till it's done. I asked for an experienced tech to review all the ticket info & present a solution. I haven't heard back & won't stay with HM now."

I wouldn't recommend HM
"I've had HostMonster for 26 days now, first impressions were good. However, got worse later on. Their support is good in my opinion and they've helped majority of the time. My sites uptime is not so good as the CPU throttles high. I wanted to change to Inmotion, however they don't offer their "Power" plan on a monthy basis option. HM allowed me to do this for $10 a month I have contacted Inmotion about the monthly thing."
