poor billing support
" I got double billed for a renewal and can't get them to answer online support and the telephone center told me I had been issued a credit, but have NOT. Very disappointing. Now I have to complain to my credit card company. "

PowWeb and Violation of Privacy
" I have learned that someone filed a copyright complaint against a website hosted by PowWeb, and their legal team sent out a letter, purportedly mailed to me personally, that was totally unrelated to the issue complained of. I have written to the legal department to inquire why my privacy has been violated, and they are ignoring me. I have had no contact - zero - with PowWeb - ever. I need the name and address of an owner or manager of PowWeb, in order to escalate this to the BBB and others. Anyone? "

Best Web Hosting in America
"As a webmaster, I am always looking for a great hosting solution for my clients. I have had hosting companies hacked into, and they were expensive to use. Many of these hosting companies were just Rbig rip offs, but POWWEB.COM has always delivered. My websites are only being hosted with POWWEB.COM. The support is great, the price is great, the features are the best, and it supports pretty much every web developer platform there is. I don't work for POWWEB.COM so I have to add that reading some of these negative reviews on this website makes no sense at all. I have been a webdeveloper for over 15 years and I am telling you all that this is the best web hosting platform there is. As for some of you negative people out there trying to blast this company. Worst web hosting site I've ever used
" This use to be a good hosting site but recently they have changed their policies and delete files they feel violate these new policies.. like jpgs (not porn) and mp3's even for podcast. Totally stupid people. They have apparantly outsourced their tech support and you end up taelling the tech rep ten times because he can't understand what you are saying... stay away from this company..bad news! "

"I've been with Powweb since 2005. Until a year or so ago they were good and efficient. Since then this outfit has been unreliable and unresponsive. My site, on which there have been no real changes, now takes ages to load. The Powweb website itself often takes ages to load too, and its OPS is frequently flakey and un-logonable. Forget their Live Email Help. You pose an issue, and quick as a flash (only thing they are quick at) a pro-forma is presented, and before you can write any reply, they end the chat. This has happened three times in the last two weeks. Powweb is now the pits and I always recommend keeping well clear. As you might imagine, I am now looking for a new web host, even though I've got 12 months to run. I'm prepared to lose the money to rid myself of this incompetent bunch of cowboys. "
