No matter how many times you tick the boxes to "NOT Auto Charge", you find them "un-ticked" and a corresponding charge on you credit card. I actually had to call my credit card company to them change my account number in order to avoid this. Unlimited everything??? That's not true of any hosting company, even though they all say that.

I had a very bad experience with Bluehost. Very nice environment and nice support, but if you have a bit more traffic or database activity, they will kick you out as they did it with me. Does not matter if you are "green" in all meters they are presenting you in the control panel. I was forced to migrate my website after get the "get out" message and it took me more than a week to put my website back online.

I had a review forum in Blue Host and it has created some controversy, at the first complaint form someone who received negative reviews in my site they SUSPENDED MY SITE WITHOUT PREVIOUS NOTICE. Every time they receive a complaint they ask me to remove even FIRST names of business providers who complaint that their names are reviewed by forum members. (These are not private citizens, they are providing services and have websites registered under their names) I moved it, I need a hosting company that works with me not against me, by the way, it is a review forum, nothing illegal, we fight and expose scammers. STAY AWAY from Blue Host

Was Customer on Bluehost for almost 2 years. All the time, i had problems with Uptime. Tech support is HORROR! And as seen on many other customers, they shut down accounts if the want. Without paying back a cent. Bluehost is pur horror

Tried to bill my credit card for a service I did not subscribe to, without my authorization, and without my knowledge. Threatened to interrupt my web-based business. Billing department is unfriendly. Intolerable behaviour from a service provider. Moving my domain today. Recommend that potential customers be highly suspicious of Bluehost.com.

I would not purchase from Bluehost again. Be careful - dealing with this company will raise your blood pressure and leave you pulling your hair! The terms of service can deactivate your account very quickly. In my case, I had a launch deadline for a website. So I was editing on vacation from another country, and boom! - the website was deactivated. To resolve this you need to send in ID and credit card images -- however emails to their verification department take a very long time to reach. It took a number of calls - in which the verification department got more and more aggressive. Even after they got all documents, they did not deactivate the account. I'm still waiting for them to re-activate the site. Further down in the comments/reviews here - I read about another case where the person with a "Pro" account lost his data.

Extremely unfriendly unhelpful tech-team and unbelievable that people put up with the constant "daily" downtime excuses they have. If for you reliability is a must --> DO NOT sign up with Bluehost. Save yourself money and aggravation. Bye Bye Bluehost! No more business from me.

I've used Bluehost for over a decade, and I still have my clients sign on with them if I have a say. I don't know the company the wretched reviews are talking about. I'm in the middle of unraveling the kind of mess I used to experience before Bluehost at this very moment, dummy companies, no support, unknown registrar, the works. These are problems I haven't had with BH. Yes, I have experienced an instance of downtime; yes, little charges for this and that have crept in; yes, I have occasionally experienced a not-so-sparkling tech support guy. But these are the kind of minor irritants one should expect doing business for years, certainly nowhere near enough to get me and my clients off BH and onto some unknown host. Overall I have found Bluehost to be responsive, eager to solve problems (not just for me, but for non-techie clients), knowledgeable, secure, fair and dependable. Perfect, no — excellent, yes.

I have an ongoing battle with Bluehost misidentifying my legit mail as spam. Every month something changes in their Spam settings and suddenly starts marking as spam emails from myself to myself as Spam even though the email is whitelisted and no one else but myself uses it. Their customer support team seems to know almost nothing about controlling spam and when I ask to be bumped up I'm told it's the fault of 3rd party spam programs that they have no control over so refuse to pass me to someone senior. I am looking for someone more reliable. Any suggestions?

I've been with Bluehost for 3 years and I was really happy with the service when I started using their hosting. However these few months, uptime and customer service is horrible. When I was having database errors on all of my sites that continued for weeks and intermittent for months, customer support blamed the Wordpress install for the server errors. I haven't even touched my oldest sites but they blamed Wordpress for recent issues, ridiculous! The email also says that they don't experience the errors when accessing my sites. True enough, the problem was fixed. But I hate support for not being honest with their customers. I would've accepted an honest answer that the database error is now fixed and they were encountering problems, seeing that I'm not the only one complaining after checking through other sites and forums. I'd rather switch than to experience that horrible situation again. Uptime is very important for me and for most people and Bluehost should've known better.
