Dot5Hosting Review

I've come to work at this place where they have this service hired. Now, i've never worked with this hosting before and for sure I never will again: E-mail is always slow and manytimes offline, websites work slow and the worst is their support problem, i mean support service. Couple days ago we received a contact message from support claiming we had a huge amount of database queries and we have to take down some of them or do something cause their servers are overloading and then if we don't do anything they will take the account down... Next message includes a warning about some ip's suposedly abusing our websites, and requesting to block those ips. We proceeded to do so and when asked about the databases they said "oh sorry for the misunderstanding, databases are ok" then what? stupid robot sending automessages with no reason? This company stinks and I'm just waiting for the hired period to end then I move away somewhere else. SUCKS

here's some science y'all.... montools.com shows 51 minutes downtime on dot5hosting---for the entire year of 2011! All these negative complaints about down time are unjustified. Tech support web chat response time was about a minute or so a few days ago. I've been with them a few years (4 domains, just added another last week) and I am fine with their service, admin features, performance, pricing. Like another reviewer said, maybe dot5hosting works just fine if you know what you're doing.

I would never ever recommend this scam to anyone. I have had a site up for over 4 years with very poor results. Customer Service and Tech Support always give you the run-around and no one has a clue what is going one. I had so many issues that were never resolved and I will be changing my domain name asap. Alert!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!! I feel violated and have wasted money on options I never used and was promised to be provided a full refund. NOT!!! They just tell you lies and keep closing your support ticket even though your problem is not solved. Once again, I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. It's a sham.

Dot5hosting is good small and medium type of businesses. Server uptime is nothing bad. Customer Service is Great! Teachnical support is also Good. Best price with their service. Friendly service and American support customer service. Totally GOOD!

Dot5hosting is the worst Hosting I have ever seen They are scamming around by saying Unlimted space,. but thy are limiting your space to 25 GB and lots of BAD Experiences with Dot5hosting Dot5hosting is Worst,. don't go for it!!

We had our original website with dot5. We registered our domain name with them. We switched our hosting to another company, but left our domain registration with dot5. They did not let us know our domain name was expiring, and now we are forced to pay $160 to redeem it.

I had dot5 for two years. They aren't as bad as everyone else is making them out to be. Then again I know what I'm doing. And as far as changing the password thing, that's no big deal. Really, I bet you are one of those people that has the same password for everything you do. That's weak. There are better companies, but this one isn't the worse.

Customer support is nothing but a complete hassle. If you have a problem they send back an email stating they need something...when you send that they say they need something else. If you order domain privacy they take ten days to activate it but still charge you for the time it wasn't activated. If you have an issue with a payment and provide proof...they still argue that they are right. Do not use them. You've been warned.

It seems that most hosting companies sales page, are riddled with lies. Dot 5 for example says unlimited websites, but the fact is when you join you can build one site the rest you pay additional $$ per year/ per site! Plus you have to pay $$for privacy per year. When I uploaded my files the site didn't display properly and the so -called html editor in their v-deck control panel couldn't even add a simple hyperlink to a email address.

dot5hosting is not really good, and it is far not the best, to make it short. I used it for my business project for 2 years and it was down for 12 hours more than 2 times and the email server was down more than 4 times. The most recent email failure was about 2 weeks ago for over 24 hours (FTW!!!). My business was paralyzed for more than a day! These problems cost money, people!
