HostPapa Customer Reviews

HostPapa is a disaster

Our experience has been so painful with technical problems, and poor performance that really impacts on user experience and is negative to the website Page Ranking as the servers can grind to a crawl - and do so frequently. The customer service is non existant and the staff including so called "management" will lie. Once we go to the trouble catching their untruths and prove that they have lied, they simply shrug it off and say there are no refunds and nothing users can do about it. I am in a group of people who have their servers managed. The Manager offered different Hosts choices and everyone who was placed in HostPapa have had similar bad experiences but those placed with other Host Providers such as IINet, Crazy Domains, or HostGator have had good experience. HostPapa are one of those bad businesses that you will not want to deal with.

Never go to Hostpapa

They are terrible. I registered my domain elsewhere and they said that the transfer would be automatic and will be done between 24-72 hours. Aftre three days and so many waste of time by their customer service, they told me why you did not change the IPS tag!!!!! Then, I changed it myself and then another person told me you should wait 5-7 more days to transfer be completed!!! When I complain they told me that you should change Nameservers before changing TAG!!!!!!! The all things they do was to apology for misinforming me. They are terrible. Never do anything with them.

If HostPapa closed its doors tomorrow...

HostPapa is not a good hosting company. They have bare minimum resources in technical support or customer service. Most evenings there is just one person holding the fort and that person is on minimal wage. It does not take long searching the web reading CUSTOMER (not paid advertised) reviews to see that the lack of resources is a real problem. The reason why HostPapa' management are unable to resolve this lack of resourcing should probably be more concerning... If HostPapa closed its doors tomorrow would it be a surprise? I think not. It is a scary notion, but many businesses will wake up one morning to find their websites shut down.

A good way to lose your money

When Hostpapa says they are in the process of transferring your domain name, this actually means they are doing nothing. They will take your money - and keep it - even if the domain does not get transferred. You can see how this firm gets it's daily corn. All it needs to do is sting everyone who signs up for the set-up fee. They don't actually care about anything further. Webdisk - not working with Windows 7. You have to ask to find out. Sitebuilder template software - doesn't load - oh, but here's a link to some you can buy (probably owned by the same people). So in conclusion - avoid, avoid, avoid. Or, find a drain and drop your cash down it - at least you can see where it's gone - but signing up to Hostpapa means you won't see anything at all for your hard-earned cash.

Not a pleasant experience...

Switched to Hostpapa appx. 2 weeks ago. Incredibly unhelpful and on one occasion rude customer service. Hopefully they'll make good on their "30 day money back guarantee" but I'm not placing money on it. Avoid at all costs.

Basic Package really is for a single page website

i had to change hosts as my last good host of 10years would not allow me to use adult content on there servers, fair enough. so i joined hostpapa, read reviews which were hit and miss but i decided to judge for myself.. to start with checkout was a nightmare, free domain.. nope no free domain only if you but a certain package for 18months or more. bad advertising there. customer service poor responses i thought personally compared to my previous host anyhow.. then my biggest issues, hostpapa do not allow you to control you own php settings, the settings that come with your package are the lowest and most basic settings there is for php 5, i requested they up them for me as i simply could not run any decent scripts on my site because of execution errors and time outs and more. they simply said no, no we can not do this. these scripts are not special scripts there basic scripts for example running a script to process products into a single feed file, 2000 items.. go hostmonster.com :)

Happy with HostPapa

I have been very happy with HostPapa and I have brought other people to it as well and plan to continue to do so. The service is great , I have not had any hacker problems and had help with technical questions quickly and efficiently. I like that it is Canadian and that it is environmentally aware.

Reliable, great price!

I only recently switched to HostPapa. In the short time I have used them I have found their reliability without fault. During the process of moving my domain I found the support team extremely helpful and always responded within a couple of hours. The price was one of the factors in selecting HostPapa. I found them very competitive and their plan features covered everything I needed. Since switching I haven't had to use their customer service (which is a good thing) but I know if I ever do then I will have quick and reliable responses.
