I decided to move my site to a cheaper host. I had no clue how difficult GoDaddy would make that little task. I just spent over four hours trying to get my EPP code. (and still have not had any luck with the matter) Sounds dumb huh? Looks like this is going to be a very long and drawn out process for me. It's a tricky process anyway. Unfortunately, if you have the privacy that they offer, it's nearly impossible to do unless you write down everything when you first create your account. Everytime you change your password, street address, etc. at GoDaddy, it does not change in your privacy ("Domains By Proxy") account...so I'm figuring out anyway. I became a GoDaddy customer around six years ago, and I have to say this makes no sense to me. Anyway, if you use them (and I wouldn't personally...there are much cheaper options), write all that info down and don't think it'll change as you change it in your GoDaddy account. Oh well...best of luck on your webhosting search.

Go Daddy's service is great, but their hosting is lousy. If you get the economy plan, your site is shared on a slow server with 5 other websites. I regularly can't browse to my own site because of spikes in response time. When I ping my server, I average a latency of 120-140ms, with spikes up to over two seconds. This is simply unacceptable for serious webhosting. If a customer were to see this, they'd just assume we were either out of business or some shady fly-by-night operation. I called and asked what I could do to fix this, and I was told if I wanted to upgrade to a dedicated server, it would cost around $90 a month. I'd be willing to pay probably 5x more per month than I currently am for good speed, but not 18x.

Like so many others have said, do not use godaddy. they are a marketing company posing as a webhosting and domain company. They are absolutley atrocious with the level of service the products are inferior and more expensive! just complete garbage, so many better options. Maybe if the focused less on advertising and more on service they could be a 3 out of 5 instead of a 1

I am having major issues with right now with my current webhosting company(MochaHost) they are the worst do not use them. I called them looking to get pricing and find out answers to my questions. The guy I talked to was not very helpful. I am looking to probably host over 5000 sites and if you actually look around at almost every single other web hosting company you pretty much get unlimited everything now a days. Well not at Go Daddy. All the guy kept focusing on was how much space do I need. Really you want me to pull this magic number out of my butt when I POTENTIALLY will be having more than 5000 sites. How many email accounts will I need. Well even if I gave every site 1 email account that still breaks their 1000 limit. There is alot more but don't have enough space for it all. Need to offer a unlimited solution like everyone else. Free up some space by deleting some of those commercials that you have just degrading woman! My first and last call to this company. Any suggestions?

I like GoDaddy BUT the site controls and main website are a pain to navigate through sometimes. I would expect a bit more from them. Also I am gettting annoyed by the constant pitches, you cant order a new name without having them constantly ask if you want this service or heres a deal on that service. Its all a bit much When you already know what you want to do on the site and is the most annoying thing to deal with on this site.
