I have 3 domains with Netfirms, 2 of which I don't use anymore. I didn't realize I was on automatic annual renewal for all 3 domains. The day my account got 3 charges for the renewals, I immediately called to cancel 2 of them and get my refund. THEY DO NOT REFUND. All they kept saying is, sorry we cannot refund you. All we can do is put you on manual renewal so this won't happen next year. I even asked to speak to a manager. I was put on hold for a few minutes and the same guy came back and said he spoke with the manager and we can't refund you. I told him I could understand if I had the renewed service for a month or so, but this is the day of the renewal!! Sorry, we can't refund you. It's like this guy was on auto-repeat. DON'T GO WITH NETFIRMS. Customer Service sucks.

Their hosting site is always down, so most of the time I don't even have a website that I'm paying for. It's such a CONSTANT thing. I wish I'd done more research before signing up with them.

The corporate changes of 2011 took a company of adequate performance down to wholly inadequate performance. You cannot risk your domains, email or web hosting to this firm any longer.

Domains were relatively inexpensive at Netfirms, which is why I opened many domains here. Suddenly, prices went up by 30%, and they started charging for $2.99 for Privacy which used to be free. Essentially a 60% price increase. It looks like they are now putting the screws to people who are locked in. I don't host on Netfirms because they do not have the experience with hosting - another registrar that just decided to offer hosting services to their captive, unknowing audience. Their migration to a new platform messed up many of my domains - I could not control them for a while. I had to contact their support so they could fix the problems. Read the horror stories. Believe. The domain console is wacky. It not intuitive how you need to control the domains. Transferring between Netfirms accounts used to be simple. Now it is difficult, and support must explain. Netfirms should learn to appreciate their customers. Cash-Grabbing will work for only a short period of time

Oh man where do I begin. I LOVED Netfirms under their original ownership. Tech support was awesome and open 24 7. When they got bought out, the service just tanked. I sent do many people to them (over 5) and I regret that now. Do NOT use them unless you want a nightmare experience. I'm going to transfer my accounts elsewhere asap.

Normally I would not take time to write a review, but I have to let people know what a joke Netfirms has become under the new ownership. I have been a longtime Netfirms user. In fact I was so happy with them, I moved all of my domain names & webhosting accounts to them. Then they were bought out. It did not take long for the new owners to bring this company down. They are not worth a $1 now. The support is worse than awful. It took me over 7 hours just to pay for the domain name renewal. The scripts on the hosting site do not work. Don't try to use PHP even though they advertise PHP support....HA! We used to get doamain privacy included with are $6.95 yearly renewal. Now it is $11.99 & you have to pay extra for the domain privacy. They took the best experience I ever had with a webhost & domain provider & turned it into a living nightmare. DO NOT GET suckered in with the low prices & the smoke they will try to blow up your ass.

In short Netfirms was a great company prior to the buy out (happened about 1 year ago). I really don't want to spend the time to write this, but man have they gone south!!! First off they offer you a lot of items, but nothing will work 100%. If you use their simple script installs of items - something will break. When the buy out happened I had to reset 500+ email passwords by hand then inform my clients of the change bc of the new minimum character limit on the passwords. I got nothing form Netfirms no freebies, support, or turn key solution. All I got was pissed off clients! Everything is changing and is half (you know what) done. The support is my favorite - first off good luck getting a competent person, second better not have an emergency, third they take forever to solve one thing - what they do is bounce it back to you about 4 times saying there is not a problem until you take screenshots lol, then they fix it half way, on top of that they will brake something else + not test to make sure there are no other errors. Now if you get this far with them you will love this line that they all copy and paste... it being - "I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you." Well I could go on and on - but I have things to do!

Since they sold to another new hosting company the service and reliability have been horrible. Their customer service is much like going to a cheap restaurant. Their services have been going down for the past month on regular basis. In this day and age these folks are a joke. My guess is the new servers are in some village in the middle of nowhere.

Netfirms systems are down every 2 weeks. I am using their support website so often I had to add it to the bookmarks toolbar. I would recommend staying away from this company. There won't be a next billing cycle for me on Netfirms.
