Liquid Web In-Depth Review

Are you looking for a new (or possibly just your first) dedicated and managed server hosting company to take care of all your IT and datacenter needs? Are you having one heck of a lot of trouble finding the right fit for your organization? Starting to get a little frustrated with the whole thing, and tired of losing all your hair from the stress?

If so, then step right up! We’ve got the best names in the game, and today’s review features one of the newer companies around—but one with a whole lot of impact. Yes, ladies and gents, we’re talking about Liquid Web. They’ve been kicking it since 1997, and during that time they’ve managed to wrack up quite a reputation as one of the best and brightest names in the industry. However, we figured you might like a little bit more information before casting judgement, so without further ado, scroll on down below the break to see what we have to say about them. Starting with:

Who is Liquid Web?

As stated, Liquid Web has been providing managed and dedicated server hosting since 1997. They are a privately owned company, which means you’ll not find any middle men here. They’re based out of Lansing, Michigan and as of press time, they support a network of some 20,000 clients in over 120 countries. That’s a huge number, especially for a company that focuses on dedicated servers!

Which, by the way, they completely do. It’s rare to see such dedication to managed hosting, but Liquid Web offers a fully-staffed support team to manage the whole operation, 24 hours a day. They’ve also taken quite a lot of time to ensure that their hardware is up to snuff, adding redundant power structures, Tier-1 Bandwidth support, and a number of other features guaranteed to provide the best possible service.

Hosting Products

So what can you actually get with Liquid Web? What we mean is, what sort of hosting services do they offer, how good are they, and what do they cost?

Believe it or not, Liquid Web actually offers quite a bit more than just dedicated and managed server hosting, though obviously that’s where their loyalty truly lies. For instance, you can get shared web hosting with the company for the competitively priced sum of only $14.95 a month. That’s on par for what we expect with a middle-of-the-road web hosting provider, and you’ll get quite a lot of services to go with it.

If you’re interested, you can also acquire a virtual private server starting at $50 a month. That’s slightly more expensive than we’re used to seeing, but then again, you’re getting your hosting from one of the industry’s most careful, intelligent, and backed up companies. With that in mind, the benefit of the pricing starts to show a little bit more face.

And on that note, it’s time we hit the good stuff! Liquid Web is unique in the way that it offers its services. With dedicated server hosting, you have the option to start with only a single processor for $189 a month. From there, you can go all the way up to a quad processor for $499 a month. Or, if you’d rather, you can also have colocation services for $150 a month. All of these are on par for the sort of performance and satisfaction that we’d expect of an high-end system. With that in mind, Liquid Web is a relatively cheap way to get your small to large business hosted with a proper server.

Internet Solutions

But that’s hardly the end to what makes Liquid Web unique! No, they are also one of the few web hosting companies we know of that offers internet and web hosting solutions to meet your needs. Now, that sounds like a buzzword phrase (and we suppose it is) so here’s more specifically what it is we’re talking about:

You see, Liquid Web will work with you to find the right combination of services that meets your exact specifications. Need a certain software package to ensure that your site gets off without an hitch? What about a firewall or other security precautions? If you need load balancing, private switches, VPNs, or any other variety of services and options, we can guarantee that Liquid Web has them. All in all, it’s a quick, efficient, and rather simple way to get your site hosted with quality.

Proper Support

We also really appreciate the way that Liquid Web has arranged its support network. They are one of the few web hosting companies we know of that allows you 24/7 access to their Level 3 engineers at all points in time. Furthermore, depending on what set of services you have opted for, you may be entitled to core managed or fully managed hosting support. This means, depending on your hosting account, you can ring up tech support, tell them what’s wrong, and they will ensure that a fix is found and found quickly. That’s a brilliant turn of events, and we can’t recommend Liquid Web enough for their support.

The Wrap-Up

Overall, Liquid Web has easily earned a spot on our recommended web hosting list. We think it’s a solid company with a lot of quality features, incredible tech support, and some of the purest and simplest dedication to the technology that we have ever seen. In fact, we’d be hard pressed to find a way in which Liquid Web would let you down. They’ve got all the options you need, as well as the technical support to help you run it.
