How to Resolve window handle for the ‘AxQuickMksAxCtl’ Control Error

I believed most of the VMware administrators experience this issue while accessing the virtual server console.

Error message 1:

    Unable to get the window handle for the ‘AxQuickMksAxCtl’ control. 
    Windowless ActiveX controls are not supported.
    

When accessing the Console tab, this error will be return.

Error message 2:

    Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
    

Resolution :
1. Go to run Type cmd. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, make sure that you use the command prompt with Administrator privileges
2. Type this command :

    BCDedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

Note : This is to set the system DEP policy to Always Off in the Windows operating system

How to Install the Telnet Client in Windows Vista and Windows 7

Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 come with built in telnet client and server. But, It was disabled by default. To telnet the remote computer or network equipment or remote server, telnet client is required. This simple steps will guide you how to install or enable the telnet client.

Go Control Panel –> Programs and Features

Click Turn Windows features on or off, windows features will prompt.

Check the check box for “Telnet client”. Click ok to finish.

Disable the User Account Control (UAC) feature on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7

User Account Control or UAC is security feature in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and windows 7. The purpose of this feature is to improve the security of Microsoft Windows by limiting application software to standard user privileges and can help to prevent unauthorized changes to the computer. Under some scenarios and some other reasons, end user might want to disable it. There is the simple way to disable UAC in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7.

1. Go to run –> Type msconfig
2. System Configuration will appear.
3. Click on the Tools tab then scroll down until you find the “Disable UAC”. Click on that line.

4. Press the Launch button
5. A CMD window will open and mentioned “The operation completed successfully”. When the command is done, you can close the window.
6. Close the System Configuration window. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.

    You can re-enable UAC by selecting the "Enable UAC"
    line and then clicking on the Launch button.
