I've been with Apollo for about 3 years. We run an events and online registration service. Up- time is paramount! Everything was pretty good until about 5 months ago (Dec 2012) ever since then we have had trouble. RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT ALL OUR SITES ARE DOWN. While I am waiting (over 5 hours now) I am writing this review and looking for another hosting service. We have 6 on-line registrations for events open right now and all of them are down. We are losing money for every hour they do not address this issue. It is the SAME issue as last week: We had them add a new domain, I then directed the subfolder and CRASH. In Feb 2013 three of my websites were down for THREE DAYS. I called their legal department, no answer, left a msg, no return call. I would love to join a class action lawsuit against them. The last tech told me they had "merged" with another company..... sold out is what he meant. Advice: STAY AWAY......STAY AWAY!!!!

September 16, 2009Have been with Apollo sadly for 3-4 years now, it started Ok but went down every year, first they dont pay attention to PHP and SQL versions, unless you call and ask, always outdated stuff, tech support used to be better but now it is some fricking India , I like people in India and love Indian food, but when it comes to tech support or customer service, .... you know what I am talking about. SSl certificate took forever to get installed, email server errors are very frequent, downtime is as regular as your bm, my site is on VPS and I see more problems than shared hosting, paying 80.00/month for horrible service. I am looking at options to get out I had enough. Migration was a nightmare and now it is down as we speak. website inaccessible for two days thats some host! Would not recommend it at all, Stinks!

September 16, 2009Apollo Hosting customer for more than five (5) years. Received no notification that they had been purchased by Endurance, or that I was being migrated to a new platform. Have had multiple problems since then. Now, I cannot use SFTP either in Dreamweaver or WS_FTP (although both worked fine before). They tested using only two free clients: FileZilla and CoffeeCup. New control panel sucks big time. Tech support is worse. Everything is worse! Will probably switch to another Web hosting provider very soon.

September 14, 2009My decision to use Apollo hosting was the single worst decision I have made in my professional career. When I first started with them about 7 years ago, the support was decent and I had few problems. Over the past 5 years, I have had one problem after the next - all due to poor customer service or problems with their servers. I kept telling myself each time we had an issue - whether it being our online shopping cart mysteriously stopping to work or our website going offline inexplicably - that what else could possibly go wrong. I told myself that my website is up, everything is configured correctly, the forms all work, the shopping cart (miva merchant) works, what else could go wrong, I thought. I was wrong again and again. Finally, I had enough and left, but not until their incompetence cost my business approximately $15,000 in lost sales revenue. They just got bought out by another company & just when I thought that things couldn't get worse, once again,wrong!

August 28, 2009Please see my apollo hosting review. Apollo hosting taken over by ipower and when you call the reputation of ipower is so bad that apollo wont even tell you who took them over. This is any website owner's worst nightmear. Apollo is no longer, its just a useless brand because ipower is running them. This is why the recent reviews look really bad and the bottom reviews look good because apollo hosting was a good company but the owner sold his soul for a chunck of cash when he sold to ipower which has never had good reviews. As you can see from the other users our sites have been down four days. Cost to me is 32k per day in lost leads only. Please do yourself a favor and run with your business from the apollo hosting reviews and ipower reviews. The worst experience I have had in 22 years in business. Apollo hosting reviews by a very upset ex client.

August 26, 2009I have been with Apollo Hosting for over 4 years. So so service until last night (8/25/09)_when with no notice they shut down the servers for a migration to a new platform. Not on a weekend! Not in the middle of the night! Not with any notice! My company was paralyzed today and they could care less. How do you call that any kind of reasonable service? I found out they did half the servers last week in which sites where down for a day and a half or more. Unfortunately I found out to late before the damage was done. Run from these guys as fast as you can. Last night they said 12 to 24 hours. Today at noon it was about another hour. Going on 27 hours of website downtime now and still not up. They won't even answer the phones. NEVER USE APOLLO HOSTING!!!!

August 14, 2009I have been an Apollo Hosting customer for 3 years now - and was shocked when I went online today to try to edit my business website - and couldn't. The company I guess has sold out to another company who has completely changed everything - and has eliminated the ability for current customers to edit their existing websites. When I asked their so-called "tech support" (who was rude and completely USELESS) what I should do, he said "create a new website". I am FURIOUS over this! I have spent countless, COUNTLESS hours creating my website and do not have the time to create a new one. I feel cheated by Apollo Hosting, and as soon as I figure it out, I will switch providers.

April 30, 2009I don't know how there are people satisfied with Apollo! We frequently have problems, but the other day was the worst! Major problem, and their tech support is SO frustrating. The 'telephone support' simply puts your problem in a database and they refuse to let you talk to anyone that actually understands issues. 4 days of downtime at a cost of about $36,000 for us. Not happy.

April 28, 2008I had previously been jumping from one hosting company to another, in search of the perfect host. I have now had my two websites with Apollohosting for about 2 years, and I am perfectly happy with their services - the main reason for choosing Apollohosting was that they have [a premium email filter] which blocks 99.9% of all spam and virus suspect emails on their server, and I don't have to deal with them. Considering that I get around 700 spam messages per email address a day, this is a big load off my back, and my computer! But I also must say that the fact that I have not noticed any downtime of my websites at all, and they run smoothly, is also very valuable. April 28, 2008I eventually tried 3 other providers before stumbling on Apollo. Email is extremely important in my business as our employees are all over the world and being up and running all the time is critical. I can not say enough good things about Apollo. They are always on call and always ready to help. Their network is one of the best. What they are doing is right on track. With a very in depth understanding of the industry and what is critical, I can truthfully say, they are doing a fantastic job. February 13, 2008We have had so many problems with Apollo Hosting over the years that it's really beyond words to describe how terrible they are. There is not a month that goes by that they don't screw up something with our site functionality or mail servers and then blame the customer. You shouldn't have to constantly worry about your host sabotaging your website by their incompetence. Save your self a lot of misery. Find a good, competent host. Apollo Hosting ain't it.

January 28, 2008I have been a reseller there for 7 years and grinding teeth for the last 3 years to avoid the countless UNPAID hours of transferring websites to a new webhost. It's so bad now I don't have a choice. Their "tech support" is pathetic at best. I would happily show chat logs of how incompetent they are. Chat support is a joke. IE: "If your not getting email from your website you need to contact the Billing dept." There is no 24/7 support. The typical response is, "3-4 hours, submit a ticket (even for simple questions) or 'I'll have to send this to a tier2/tier3." You can also expect to wait 45min to over 2 hours for a reply in chat - IF they don't drop you first! Naother example: Reseller server goes down, have to submit a ticket. All clients's websites return the next day and 2 WEEKS later a reply for the ticket says the website is now working. Several years ago I was singing their praises. Now I'm growling to my lawyer.

January 05, 2008Reliability is horrible. I constantly have to reboot my server because it can't run reliably for more than a few days (sometimes only a few hours.) Tech support is a dead-end, and often times not available. They take months to update to latest software (I couldn't even install most php programs due to Apollo using outdated versions.) FTP is constantly going down. You have to pay extra to stop the onslaught of spam. They started out good, but have rapidly fallen. I'm looking to move ASAP.

November 19, 2007Apollohosting used to be great, but in the last year both the reliability and the tech support have gone down the drain. Some e-mail features currently fail about four weeks out of the year (that is, no e-mail to certain addresses for all the time) and trying to get tech support to help you is a long and arduous process. Web tickets are not responded to, and they charge for more than three support calls to their helpline (which is not 24 hours).

October 01, 2007I just of switched my web hosting. My email has been down for FOUR DAYS with no end in sight!! Tech support always has some lame reply "large mail queue" ,"lots of processes running on the server" , etc. Support keeps indicating the problem should be fixed in a few hours. Since I'm on a shared plan, I know I'm not the only one in this leaky boat!! Tech support USED to be good, not it is pathetic. Don't expect to get a reply when you open a helpdesk ticket.

July 21, 2007Two days ago their billing dept. deleted one of my resold accounts without cause. They admitted the mistake but have yet to restore the web site. What you see on the domain if you click it, are static files but missing the backend and shopping cart. My client is losing several dollars per day due to not being able to sale online(no shopping cart) and I am on the verge of losing this client due to their mistake. This is not their first mistake. Over the last 6 months or so, support, billing and managers are no where to be found and I have trouble tickets that take weeks sometimes months to resolve - even if they are "emergency" tickets. They will not re-imburse me for down time and the statement "99%" up-time has been a lie for quite some time now. All my clients sites have been down at least a total weeks time the past 6 months. I have lost clients and money due to them and have been going as fast as I can to move all my clients off their hosting.

Customer Service a Problem
I have used Apollo for around 8 years. Overall during that time I was satisfied. However, a recent problem involving allowed disc usage and their response to the problem has led me to change providers. They deleted a large amount of my data without providing a proper warning. They failed to prove that they had done adequately done so, then refused to re-upload so I can re-download data. My questions and requests for them to resend emails were not replied to. It's a lot of work to change providers but I refuse to stay with a company with poor service that doesn't go out of its way to assist with these kind of problems.
