Bluehost - Completely Unreasonable
I started my account with Bluehost in 2016. The name of my company is Derthona Wines & Spirits. We legally distribute wine through the government-controlled liquor store in Ontario. Since 2016, Bluehost had no problem with my company. They had no problem depositing my payments in their bank. Then, in 2020, with the Pandemic and loss of restaurant business, we decided to set up an e-commerce store. After a steep learning curve -- I got my website up and was about to have a formal launch. Then -- I got notification from Bluehost that I was engaged in the "illegal distribution of a controlled substance." I knew that the "illegal distribution" of alcohol would be against the law (pretty well every in the world), but we are a licenced company. It was IMPOSSIBLE to sort this problem out. To boot, they sent an email to an old email address, so the two-day advance notification didn't get to me, even though Bluehost also has my new email. I'm sure Bluehost is fine for some ... definitely a horrible experience for us!
