November 28, 2018FatCow has hosted my account for a while now, 3-4 years at least. Load speeds have gotten dramatically slower and overall the experience has been lackluster at best. I recently decided to move to G-Suite, and for the past three weeks, my email has been deleted. I opened a support ticket two weeks ago and still do not have the problem resolved. This is costing me a ton of business and compared to last November my revenue is off by some 40%.. I will be moving to another hosting platform, that is as soon as I can email them.

October 28, 2018About 2 weeks ago, I woke up to a blizzard of email saying my site was down. within about 45 minutes I figured out what the problem was. Hint it wasn't my fault. I had changed absolutely Nothing in over 2 weeks prior. Fatcow had updated, patched or changed some server software and broke my web site, with NO Notification of any changes to the server. After numerous calls and on-line chat sessions, two weeks later, it's still broke and down on Fatcow. I can't say enough about how bad FatCow Support is. Every time I call or chat, I have to explain the problem from the beginning. Apparently they don't have a trouble tracking system worth a nickel. You can't even see your open trouble ticket from their control panel. They also will not let you, me or anyone talk to anyone at Level 2 or 3. And the Level 2 or 3 people won't talk to you either, if they actually exist. Quite frankly, I have moved the first of several sites away from FatCow. Oh, and in my phone calls, they started getting defensive and very unapologetic. Guess their ego's are too big for their ........ If you're looking for a hosting provider, look somewhere else.

September 13, 2018What a complete mess of a Company: all of their systems are out of synch. They transfer things they should not and bill for things they should not and are unable to fix them. I had to call the bank to cancel the charge(s) year after year as the refund(s) they claimed would be given never materialized. Speaking with billing support is an exercise in futility.

July 05, 2018Fat Cow hosts my three websites. All three have been down for weeks at a time and in only one case has technical support helped restore it. One site has been down a week and they will not restore it, but insist that I handle technical matters that are outside my competence. I have spent countless hours on the phone with incompetent Indian support who really don't care and often simply repeat the problem to you. They are unwilling to fix a problem that they caused. I'm looking for another server.

September 15, 2017I cancelled, unfortunately too late. I got too busy running my business and didn't realize the FatCow plan increased from $250 to $466. I called to request a refund, but, of course it was too late. The only thing they provided, for the $466, was domain forwarding to the other host...who I had to utilize, because the "SQL" is very limited, and very poor speed. Buyer Beware!!!

April 04, 2017Within 48 hours of purchasing a domain and web hosting from FatCow for my at-home business, I was getting emails and text messages about setting up a website, creating a logo, marketing my business, etc. Even though I bought privacy protection to prevent this kind of invasion of my privacy, FatCow obviously thought it was okay to sell my contact information as quickly as they could. March 01, 2017I had been hosting with them for a couple of years before it just got too incredibly expensive. There are better hosts out there for a lot less money. Recently, however, one of my domains, which is still registered with them, went down. After looking up everything and spending at least an hour on chat support, it appears that while my domain is still good until 2018, it is no longer valid with the registrar. Basically, I still have the domain, but they killed it because they're awful. They also closed my account, so I can't even move my domains. They are in the process of moving them to the new account I had to create, and I will IMMEDIATELY move them to my current host. Just. A. Piece. Of. Crap. Horrible.

February 14, 2017I was recently looking for a web host and came across FatCow. I had never heard of it until recently after seeing it on multiple Top 10 web host lists. I wanted a month-to-month hosting plan and FatCow appeared to offer it. It said $7.00 monthly and an added $10 domain privacy fee. Read over the invoice and away I went. On hte confirmation page it says "$98 hosting plan and $9.99 domain Privacy" I checked my bank account and it said $107.99 charge. THATS NOT WHAT THE ORDER SUMMARY SAID! IT SAID $7.00 + $9.99. What a scam! I know I read it correctly before ordering too, I ALWAYS triple check. After immediately requesting a full refund and them beating around the bush trying to not refund my money, they said there is a $15 cancellation fee. Now theres a 5-12 business day refund waiting period. I hate FatCow and I havnt been with them for 30 minutes. I am NOT doing business with them.

January 20, 2017My site was built by Fat Cow. They installed Wordpress and Woocommerce. I logged into my admin page, noticed an update was needed (very common, done this many times before). When I updated (clicked the button 'update now'), the site crashed. Called tech support, they told me to FTP into something, do something. I stated I didn't understand, they didn't care. Called back to ask for help, another support tech took over. While on the phone, I noticed my site lost all products, customers, orders, etc. Asked what happened and tech put me on hold. That was 4 days ago, nothing has been fixed. Today I received an email with computer lingo that makes no sense. PHP, SQL, databases.... They instructed me to contact someone else to help. SOMEONE ELSE?? like who. I paid FatCow tons of money, they installed it, they broke it and now its someone else's fault? I have been screamed at, called a liar twice and lied to daily. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Taking legal action

December 31, 2016I signed up for fatcow's shared hosting plan and was really disappointed with their servers and support. My website, that was working fine with other hosting providers stopped working on their servers. I spent hours debugging it and later realized it was not worth it and that I could get better services elsewhere. When I asked for a refund during the 30 day money back guarantee, they told me they will deduct $15 for the domain even after I told them I don't want the free domain that comes with the registration.

November 07, 2016Fatcow is still running Exchange 2007. If you are a Fatcow Exchange client, you will not be able to use Outlook 2016. You have to use the old OWA client as will. You are also limited to 2 GB per mailbox. Customer support is farmed out to Manila.

September 28, 2016Their sales person sold me a $180 package that I was never able to use. The chat just send you to buy additional items no person is ever there. They gave no response ( not even kiss off) to 4 emails. Worst rip off on the internet. Go Godaddy at least they answer their inquiries

I believe they went public so now all they care about is their greedy little profit motive. site lock is their new secret weapon to screw you and your site. You will soon be getting calls about malware on your site no matter what and they will extort money from you and take your site offline unless you pay. Run as far as you can from these people and especially site lock. I know I dealt with site lock management and they don't want anything on their website to educate users only highly trained salesman to take your money. You stink FAT COW

August 25, 2016Don't get stuck with these money hungry bastards! My business partner used them before I came along. The website was hard to navigate and lame. I took it over a year ago and have gotten compliments since. I took over paying for the domains to make it simple. Today fat cow charged me over $500 for webhosting even I have been doing it for over a year. I am probably going to let the domains go, so I don't have to deal with fatcow again.

August 15, 2016I too was attracted by their wind-powered server farms. However they have repeatedly proven to be shysters in billing. (Got charged nearly EIGHT times the *currently* published amount for renewal and they were very underhanded about it). Never again- do yourself a favor and AVOID AVOID AVOID.

August 04, 2016Working in Software business I know how difficult it is to always ensure upgrades do not screw up existing clients, but it seems that an upgrade (no idea when) broke a link to button that allowed clients send me emails with queries, it stopped working & i had to contact Fatcow & register issue which they resolved immediatly, tells me they knew about it already, i have no idea what stress this issue has caused my patients/clients and now have to manually go back through the log to check every entry & contact each client, what a pain especially when they knew the issue existed

August 03, 2016Over the last few years, I raved, RAVED, about how awesome Fatcow was. I got all of my clients to transfer to them. They recently remodeled their business and DID NOT tell any clients about the changes. So certain things like the LIVE CHAT help is so scaled down you have to pay for simple help. More importantly, the BACKUP & RESTORE feature is now an ADD-ON for $12.95 a month. This used to be included. How ridiculous. There are too many more downgrades to get in to. Believe me, I will never recommend them again. And as soon as I can, I will move each and every client to a new hosting company.

May 21, 2016I started using FatCow in 2011 because of the wind-powered server farms and kept using them because of their incredible customer service. That sure has changed in the last 5 years! The wait time for tech support via chat is anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes. Not so great, but it's made worse by the fact that even the most basic settings are left out-of-reach of the user without tech support intervention. For example, they have to "turn on" access to DNS settings. And then you can't even make SRV record changes without them! If that isn't bad enough, they often say they made a setting change and then just plain don't. It took four (yes four) attempts to have SRV records added last night and, after 16 hours of waiting (because their last response was to give it "up to 12 hours" to propogate), I logged in today and found that they didn't do it. Every issue is a time-sucking ordeal. There hasn't been a single issue in the last year that hasn't consumed my entire day. Not one.

May 10, 2016Stay Away. Just got off chat with Vimal V. He was professional but couldn't help. I cancelled both my domain renewal and my hosting service. Got an email confirmation and was reflected at Billing Central. (It is still reflected that way and if you would like to see the pics you can go to Yelp!) Even after they confirmed everything they still billed me $172. So I Googled them and they do this all the time and they have a 2 rating on Yelp! When I asked for refund Vimal said he would put a ticket in but he knew that only a portion would be refunded and not the whole thing. I explained I have the email confirmation and I have the billing screenshots as proof and he explained they wouldn't refund the domain renewal because it had already gone through. I explained I had a copy of the email and screen shots saying it wouldn't. Didn't matter. Posted the shots on Yelp!

April 01, 2016I've had several accounts with them over the years. Service is okay, although sometimes there are lengthy downtimes. But they're underhanded in the ways they charge you. I just signed up for a new domain name and hosting, and carefully deselected all the add-on services which they want to sell you. But when I got the bill, they had added Sitelock and Site Backups for an extra 30 some bucks, services which I don't need. So if you use them: - check your receipts carefully for extra charges - go to Billing Central and deselect auto renewal for your domain and hosting. When it comes time to renew they will notify you. Check what the renewal fees will be, they're probably considerably higher than the first year. Do this a couple months before the expiration date. If you want to transfer your domain name to another host, it will take several weeks, and could take a couple months. The whole system is suspect, frankly.

They are doing incredibly great in case of site speed and uptime. They assist their customers in very good manner so that it is easy to understand and solve the problem even for beginners. I suggest Hostgator, Bluehost, Domain racer and of course fatcow for amazing performance.
