Literally a Scam
When signing up for a URL at Godaddy you are given “free features” which are signed up for in the small print. Most people never even use them. Then after a year suddenly it autosubscribes for the service but now at $100 a year. The user is never contacted: emails go straight to the junk folder. The language in the emails gets into any spam filter, almost as if they designed it so you wouldn’t ever see it. Another year passes and another auto renewal only now the price has increased to $148. On top of that, charges for “Office Email”, $80, all buried in the small print.
I was quite upset upon seeing these charges in credit card billing and so I immediately followed up with Godaddy. No one would do anything, their policy was to tell customers to just get lost and go elsewhere. Their legal department responds to emails with a form saying they don’t respond to customers and here are the addresses you can sue them at.
