Originally launched in 1999, IXWebhosting is one of the most well known web hosting providers in the world. Since then, IX Web Hosting has grown to have over 500,000 websites hosted. IXWebhosting has a wide variety of hosting solutions to choose from and all of their hosting services are excellent in terms of prices. Yet, in the past we have seen some very negative reviews regarding IX customer and technical support. If you decide on hosting your website with IX, please post your review here. Your vote is very important to us!
Show full textIXWebhosting Editor's Review
Here at Web Hosting Geeks, we consider it one of our prime directives to keep you informed about most of the popular, inventive, and otherwise chic web hosting companies floating around on the Internet. We make a point to cover some of the larger companies, giving you the full scoop on those institutions that a lot of web masters are choosing. However, we also consider it our duty to keep you informed about some of the smaller venues, too. Those that are just starting up, or who cater to a smaller audience. Often times these places come with an increase in service and performance, and as such, we feel you should be informed about them.
Which is why today we’ll be taking a look at a web hosting provider that you may never have heard of before: IXWebhosting. It’s a company that we enjoy, and for a number of reasons. If you’re looking for a slightly smaller company to handle your needs (but one with the utmost in performance and reliability) then stick around! We’ll be shoveling out all of the facts as they lay, including pricing, contact information, hosting plans, and general know-how. We’ll also be giving their tech-support plans a run for their money. All in all, you’ll find the sum total of that information below, as well as a whole lot more. If that sounds like a good deal, then head on below the break, Soldier! We’ve got your IXWebhosting boot camp locked, loaded, and ready to roll!<
Who is IXWebhosting?
With any web hosting provider, no matter who they are, we try to firstly paint an accurate picture of the company’s drives, who they cater to, and what their promises are. We’ve done this for all the bigger providers, but we feel it’s particularly important with smaller places like IXWebhosting. With that in mind, just who in the heck of things is IXWebhosting?
To begin with, IXWebhosting boasts a network of some 503,408 sites across its entire network. That’s a lot of customers, especially as the provider has only been in business since 1999. During that time, they’ve grown one heck of a lot, now holding more than 110,000 clients in their roster. They began their company with a single server in the founder’s living room, and have since become a really mammoth operation. They offer a lot of guarantees, which if you’re looking for security in information, we’ll pass along to you now.
Firstly, IXWebhosting works to offer one of the most personable tech-support teams in the game. Their company wide philosophy is to provide a unique and personalized customer support experience, as quoted from their website. How is this accomplished? By assigning each and every new account a single tech support rep. We’ll dive into the juicy details of this much later in the article, but it’s worth mentioning here at the forefront of things.
They also offer a full, zero risk guarantee. What does this mean? Well, it largely means a couple of things. Firstly, it means that you can enjoy all the services that IXWebhosting has to offer for one full week without paying—yes, that’s at no charge to you, Señor! For a week you can simply enjoy the benefits, and if you don’t like the service, you can cancel everything without being hassled. There’s no fighting for refunds, no excess bills: Just free service for a week.
The company also boasts one of the best technical focuses in the game. What we mean by that is simple: IXWebhosting strives to provide its users with the best, the latest, the quickest, and the most solid hardware available. We’ll bite deeper into the tech apple in a second, but we’d like to tie all of this off with a simple point: IXWebhosting offers full, 99% up-time on all its servers. Guaranteed. Sure, a lot of hosting companies promise that, but with IXWebhosting’s network of ace hardware, you can bet it’s a sure guarantee.
The Tech Behind IXWebhosting
So how exactly is it that IXWebhosting is capable of promising you and its users a full 99% guaranteed uptime? The truth lies in the machinery, as well as the location and set-up. Firstly, IXWebhosting controls its own, state of the art data center located within the United States. Furthermore, this data center is housed and staffed by system administrators, customer relations experts, and an ace marketing department. What this means for you is that the physical hardware you’re taking advantage of is nearby, and is staffed by people who can fix problems as they arise. Is your site down? With IXWebhosting, you can fully expect a nearby associate to be working on the problem before you even notice it’s there.
IXWebhosting also makes use of its own, proprietary Tier 3 (n+1) network. What does this mean? It means that the hardware your site is stored on is expected and designed to provide the best possible connection speeds and up-times. That plus one also indicates that, in emergency situations, you will always have a single, additional backup on hand to update your site with. If something should happen accidentally to your data, you can rest assured that it will be backed up and restored in mere minutes. Oh, and they’ve also got two industrial diesel engines to handle blackouts—Just thought we’d throw that into the ring!
The Hosting Plans Offered by IXWebhosting
Up until this point, we’ve talked a lot about who IXWebhosting actually is, as well as what kind of hardware they’re supporting. However, we have yet to dive into the meat and potatoes of their actual hosting plans. Don’t worry, though, we plan to fix that little problem right here and right now! Starting with the most basic brick in the wall: The shared Linux hosting plan!
Personal Linux Hosting Plans
Before we can give you the specifics of the actual plan, we have to first mention the way that IXWebhosting’s services are arranged. You see, within their personal Linux hosting plans, the company actually offers a sum total of three unique pricing and service tiers. These are designed to meet the needs of specific consumers, and can be a tremendous boon for those with set goals and budgets.
To begin with, the bottom tier of their personal Linux hosting plans is the Expert Plan. This plan starts at a scant $3.95 a month, which may seem low—that’s because it is! The pricing rate listed there is one of the best we’ve seen on the market. But what does it earn you?
It’s worth mentioning at this point that all three of the IXWebhosting hosting tiers come standard with unlimited disk space, unlimited band width, and unlimited hosted domains. These are all points that we positively demand in our hosting providers, and we feel you should too. Within the Expert Plan, however, you’ll be earning quite a few other features, as well. To begin with, you’ll be given a total of two dedicated IP addresses, which is a tremendous boon for search engine optimization. On top of that, you’ll also get one free domain registration with an extension of your choice: .com, .net, .org, .biz, etc. And of course, you’ll also get that dedicated support representative that we talked about earlier.
The next better thing to the Expert Plan is the Business Plan. For only $7.95 a month, you’ll get even more features, and more service that’s been geared to your needs from the ground up. To start off with, you’ll enjoy the same unlimited features, as well as a whopping three free dedicated IP addresses. There’s also two free domain registrations, to boot. And, as mentioned, you can also enjoy the 7 day free trial period and dedicated support rep once you’ve actually signed the lease on your new server space.
The last plan is the Unlimited Pro option, which clocks in at the same price as the Business Plan. For only $7.95 a month you’ll get all the unlimited options, 15 free IP addresses, three free domain registrations, and full access to the support and trial periods you need. It’s a killer bargain, and considering it also comes loaded with site building technology, site marketing and promotional tools ($75 free Google AdWords), eCommerce options, and emailing software, you’re looking at one incredible bargain!
Personal Windows Hosting Plans
However, unlike most hosting companies curently on the market, IXWebhosting is not a Linux-only affair. In fact, they offer perhaps one of the best Windows-based hosting experiences we’ve seen around town. And, as you might have expected, these plans are also broken up into a couple different pricing tiers.
Where Windows hosting is concerned, you’ve only got two unique plans to think about. Firstly, there’s the Business Plus plan, which costs only $9.95 a month. For that money you’ll get the unlimited features you need, as well as three free dedicated IP addresses and two free domain registrations. You’ll also get the full bevy and load of additional features, including site building technology, a Plesk control panel, site marketing and promotional tools, eCommerce options, and emailing software, and full customer support. But what’s the other pricing tier look like?
With the Unlimited Pro Windows hosting option provided by IXWebhosting, you’ll be spending a scant $9.95 a month on your Windows hosting. With that, you’ll get some of the most powerful Windows technology in the game, as well as a full 15 free dedicated IP addresses, three free domain registrations, and all the unlimited disk space, bandwidth, data transfers, hosted domains, and email accounts you can stand. And, you’ll also get the full roster of other features that we mentioned above. All in all, it’s a rock solid way to go if you’re in serious need of some good Windows hosting, and the price isn’t bad, to boot. In our eyes, it’s a winning deal.
Linux VPS Hosting
But what if shared personal hosting just isn’t cutting it for you? What if you need a little more oomph in the tank to get by, and a shared plan of any sort just won’t meet the needs of your personal site or your business venue? If that’s the case, then you’re in luck! IXWebhosting offers a wide range of virtual private server options, allowing you to take yet another step toward web hosting freedom—and at a price that might surprise you!
As you might have guessed at this point, IXWebhosting isn’t just going to give you a flat rate for its services. No, they’ve got three tiers of pricing and features to entice you with, as well as two unique operating systems: Windows and Linux.
In the realm of Linux, you’re looking at the X2, X4 and X8 pricing tiers. What do these earn you? To answer, we’ll start with the lowest rung, the X2. For only $29.95 a month, this lowest pricing scheme earns you one heck of a lot of virtual private server power. To begin with, you’ll get one CPU core with 384 megabytes of guaranteed RAM. Then, you’ll get a total of 500 gigabytes of data transfer, 10 gigabytes of storage, and a whole two dedicated IP addresses to boost your search engine optimization. Want unlimited features? You got them! You’ll get unlimited hosted domains, burstable RAM, and complete Root/Admin Access.
The next step up, the X4, offers roughly the same additional features, but with much bustier hardware. Clocking in at $54.95, the plan earns you a full four CPU cores, 786 megabytes of RAM, 1500 gigabytes of data transfer (whew!) and 15 gigabytes of storage. You’ll also get two dedicated IP addresses, a cPanel/Plesk panel, and all the other features we mentioned earlier.
Now, though, it’s time to bring out the big daddies of the hosting plans. Yes, we’re talking about the X8. The pricing on this one is much higher ($89.95 a month) but for that price you’ll get a whopping eight CPU cores, a total of 2048 megabytes of RAM, 2000 gigabytes of data transfers, and 100 gigabytes of storage. All of this also comes loaded with the aforementioned bonus features, and the full security of the IXWebhosting dedicated support team. In other words, if you need heavy-duty virtual private server hosting with a Linux flavor, there’s no better place to go than with the X8.
Windows VPS Hosting
On the Windows side of things, you can expect to pay slightly more. Plans are exactly comparable in both hardware and performance, but the prices will go up just an hair. For instance, the X2 Windows plan costs $44.95 a month, the X4 Windows $69.95, and the X8 a whopping $104.95.
In other words, if you don’t need the Windows application support or file system, the Linux side of IXWebhosting’s virtual private server hosting will save you money without shirking performance.
Cloud Hosting
Here at Web Hosting Geeks, one of the things we enjoy most about web hosting is cloud-based technology. We’re absolutely ape for it, and if you want the best performance with the most security, there’s no other way to go than with the cloud. All of this in mind, we’re absolutely stoked to see that IXWebhosting offers a full range of cloud hosting plans to its consumers. What do they look like? Well, let us tell you!
To begin with, there are a total of four different pricing tiers to work with where cloud hosting at IXWebhosting is concerned, as well as a total of two unique operating systems: Both Linux and Windows. In the realm of Linux, the lowest possible cloud hosting plan costs $99.95 a month and earns you two CPU cores, one gigabyte of guaranteed RAM, 300 gigabytes of data transfer, 20 gigabytes of storage, and two dedicated IP addresses. To be fair to this lowest of plans, the amount of power offered is much higher than we’re used to seeing with other cloud hosting companies.
And at the very top end of the system, we’re looking at $424.99 a month for a whopping eight CPU cores, 8 gigabytes of RAM, 1500 gigabytes of data transfer, 150 gigabytes of storage, two dedicated IP addresses, and even your choice of the Linux operating system. It’s a wealth of power, data, and performance, with plans in the middle ranging from $174.99 to $249.99. All in all, we have to confess that we’re rather blown away by the statistics on this side of IXWebhosting’s plans, and we genuinely feel they’re one of the best cloud hosting providers on the market.
Of course, the Windows plans are roughly equivalent, but will cost you slightly more than their Linux brothers and sisters. The lowest plan possible under the operating system will cost you roughly $129.99 a month while the utmost runs a full $444.95 a month. Still, though, if you’re looking for cloud hosting with Windows as the base, you’re typically out of luck. This level of variety, and the mere fact that Windows is included as a possibility is an impressive reason to give IXWebhosting a try.
All the Other Additional Stuff
So, now we’ve given you the grand picture of the total hosting plans that IXWebhosting offers. However, as with most web hosting providers, that’s not quite the full picture just yet. No, the host offers a few other perks to entice you with, and they look a bit like this:
With IXWebhosting you’ll get a free eCommerce SSL Certificate (to order click here) to both prove the security of your eCommerce site, but also to lock it down and protect it from outside influence. You can also enlist the company to design your website for you at a modest fee using their design services (request free consultation). Want to set up a merchant account with your IXWebhosting plan? Not a problem! And to top it all off, you’ll also get a full range of free advertising coupons and credits to kick start the promotion of your new site. All in all, it’s a fun barrel of perks, and if you needed another reason to consider IXWebhosting, there it is.

All in all, IXWebhosting looks to be one of the best hosting providers we’ve seen in a long time. They offer a unique focus on the consumer and on personal sales support and tech assistance that we simply don’t get a lot of in the industry. Furthermore, their prices are reasonable, their services wide—the dual operating system support is top-notch—and their image trusted.

We’ve got heaps of them, and if you’re not familiar with a web hosting provider, it never hurts to have a look under the hood. May 07, 2018Never ever subscribe to this useless company.. Inspite of being a customer for more than 8 years, I am unable to contact the support for the past 2 months. One of my websites is down for more than a week and there is no way I can contact support team. Every time I login it keeps saying that your account is being migrated. MORE THAN 2 MONTHS for MIGRATION??? How do these people expect the clients to have no issues for more than 2 months. The worst customer service I've ever experienced i my life.

March 21, 2018I have had my domain through Dotster.com since 2000. I moved it to ixwebhosting in February of 2010. They have been great! I have never had any down time on my site while being hosted by ixwebhosting. However, they got bought out by Site5 and my web content was migrated to a Site5 server yesterday. After I redirected the nameserver information, my site was up and running for about 4 hours. Then the Site5 server disappeared. I did manage to contact Site5 "online chat" helper and he verified my name server info, but he too could not find the server, although he insisted that the server was up and running! He suggested I wait 4 or 5 hours till it may come back. My site has been gone for 22 hours now and still will not load. I too will be looking for a new host soon if they do not find the server or a little later once my paid time with them is closer to being up. At any rate, since ixwebhosting is closing their doors, DO NOT sign up with them. Site5 is not anywhere near as reliable as ixwebhosting WAS!

ixwebhosting is closing their doors! Do not sign up with them. The folks who bought them out, Site5.com, are no where near as reliable as ixwebhosting was. Keep looking elsewhere for a hosting site for your web content!
-
After my site got migrated to Site5 , it was only up for about 4 hours, then it disappeared and is still gone after 22 hours!
-
UPDATE: After enduring 4 days offline, they could still not get their act together. I moved my content to another hosting company! ixwebhosting was great, but they sold out to an apparently very incompetent company! After moving, my site was back up and running within an hour with the new host! mermeliz.com has been online since Feb 2000. This experience with Site5 was the first time it was ever offline more than a few hours!

March 06, 2018These guys used to be great. But not anymore! Their support staff used to be very knowledgeable and helpful, even with some relatively complex technical issues. And they at least had 24/7 tech support available via web chat. But I noticed recently they only offer chat or any other support (phone or email) 5 days a week now during extended business hours (until 10pm). And I've had some support tickets go unanswered for over a week! And then, even when I did finally get a reply, it was no help at all. They didn't actually test and verify the issue I was having, let alone offer any help. It seemed like they didn't even bother to spend the time reading my email to see how to repro the issue. - I'm currently investigating moving my domain hosting to another provider with better support. After almost 10 years with IXWebhosting, their support has gotten so terrible now that I'm willing to expend the time and effort to relocate my domains and websites and kick them to the curb. - If you are considering using IXWebhosting, I would strongly advise against it. Their tech is really outdated, and now they apparently have a large enough user base that they don't care enough about their customers anymore to offer even halfway decent support.

February 24, 2018So for the 4th time I call and get a Customer NO SERVICE rep who lies to me and tells me the problem has been sent to the a top tier support and the issue will be resolved within hours. But NO, it isn't. In fact I don't get an email or a call letting me know my ticket has been resolved. NO, nothing but lip service from a bunch of liars. What does a person have to do to get this matter resolved?

October 06, 2017I have been with Ixwebhosting for 10 plus years. The shared web services are good for the price in my opinion. The problem is the mail service. The program they run is Hord and it is Terrible! Its web interface is lacking. But the worse part is the mail DOSE NOT support SSL or TSL. All your mail including your password is sent in the "Clear" for anyone and everyone to see. In this day and age that is Inexcusable! Obviously you can't run any form of a business using unsecured email with out a lot of liability. Really stupid on Ixwebhosing part.. I hope they fix it before my contract is up.

You have to really suck to get me to leave. I mean, I can barely spell email, so changing my provider is an earth moving proposition. IXwebhosting sucks that badly. After 7 years, I finally couldn't take it any more so I took off the auto renew. My account was closed suspended on a Sunday at the end without any notice. Their customer service is in India and after 3 tries I gave up even trying to get the rep to understand what my name was. In the end, they refused to give me a single day grace period to move my account and instead preferred to bounce all my emails. STAY AWAY FROM IXWEBHOSTING.

Hello Wendy, I'm sorry for the troubles you faced with your account. I'm sorry that you didn't receive any notice about your account. Our system auto sends notifications to email addresses on file, but if the email address does not stay current, often the notices go unnoticed. If you need any help with understanding our services in anyway please contact either our phone, chat or ticket support teams. Cheers, John Richards IX Web Hosting

Hello Kyle, I'm sorry that you were part of that outage. We work hard to minimize hardware issues that would result in downtime. Unfortunately, we can't predict when a hardware failure will occur. However, when it does happen, we work quickly on a resolution to minimize customer downtime and to prevent data loss. When something like this happens, the best place to stay on top of what is happening is our status blog. You can check this at any point during an outage as we update it regularly throughout any outage. Thank you, IX Web Hosting

December 17, 2016I have been with IX for probably 10 years, and only now discover their claims of Unlimited Disk Space means 30Gb. If I had know that when I joined I would not have signed up. Don't give me any of this 'Fair Use' BS. If you drew a line around 200GB I would think that was reasonable. But to make such absolute claims of "worry free unlimited disk space" without any reference to the actual limit, is simply dishonest. Even in their Fair Use of Resources page, if you know about its existence and google it directly, there is no mention of a 30GB limit. But then they have the hide to tell me that they will suspend and delete all my content if I don't remove the excess to 30GB in 2days! That's just plain rudeness. I should have known to beware when I saw IX had been taken over by Indians - after years of travelling in India, you'd think I would have learnt my lesson. Now I'm going to have to find another web hosting service that is honest about its plan statements.

Hello Michael, I know it's frustrating to hear that you have unlimited storage space only to then be told that you have to reduce the amount of storage you are using. The reality is that on these shared servers we have to maintain a stable environment for all users. When one user goes way above and beyond the standard usage on a server, we have to take action to prevent it from impacting all the other users. If you would like to discuss this situation further, we are willing to listen and work something out with you. You can contact us at support@ixwebhosting.com and we will respond to your concerns as soon as possible. Thank you, IX Web Hosting

Hello Sohail, I didn't have enough information to find your account, so I'm not sure what your exact issue was. It sounds like your websites were using more than their fair share of resources. Like any shared web host, customers on our shared servers are sharing the available resources. When one user utilizes more than their fair share of those resources it negatively impacts other users on the server. To make sure services remain functioning on the server for other users we do sometimes have to limit usage of the top users. For sites that have high resource requirements we also offer VDC and Cloud options.

August 02, 2016If you do decide to use this company, be very aware. Read the reviews and heed them. They will take your money and run if it is at all possible. they will never issue a refund even if you stop using their products. Your sign up will be great and the customer service during that time is fantastic. After that it all goes down hill. Spam filtering - They told me to use outlook and get an a spam filter, they don't offer that service. That is insane! even FREE email services provide that. I guess you could have them host your email and then forward it to gmail or yahoo for you to read it, but that is rediculous. I guess I'm a paying customer for another year. Just stay away! There are better options out there.

Hello Ron, I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with Spam filtering. We do filter a lot of spam before it even reaches the servers but it's a constant balance between filtering enough that spam is caught but not filtering so much that legitimate emails get filtered out too. That's probably why you were referred to local filtering. We have a second layer of protection marking the headers of spam emails so that customers who want a higher threshold of filtering can set their own levels locally. If you'd like assistance setting up those local filters, our customer service team would be happy to help.

I'm hosting my websites with IX for past 7 years and its awesome experience. The servers are far superior compared to other hosting. I had never experienced any server issues in my hosting journey with IX. I love the dedicated super hero concept. We will be getting individual agents assigned for any support issues. The prices are also competitive and can get offers by contacting the support teams. I like the chat support which is always super and ready to help. Just upload the website to server and forget about accessing the control panel. Your website will be up and running always. Super cool servers. I jut love hosting with IX web hosting

June 30, 2016I've been a paying customer for 9 years and 9 months. For a long time the hosting was good and cheap, I was grandfathered in with an unlimited storage & bandwidth plan for something like $9 a month. Within the past 2-3 years IX began slowly raising my rates without any notice or warning. I now pay twice as much for less service. My site is constantly down, I have had to deal with problems sending out emails due to them not keeping their servers clean. The webserver my site was located on has been on every email blacklist known to man, yet I overlooked that. Their servers constantly corrupted data mid-transfer. I'd upload a 120 line file, the file that ended up on the server would be 127 lines with the last 7 lines repeated at the bottom of the file, breaking the site. I ask them for tools to help me build a better site like cPanel and NodeJS, they refuse. My site goes down, I had a file using too much memory, I fix it 15 mins later. 3 hours after that they still have not fixed it!!!!!!

Hello Rob, We understand why you'd be concerned about seeing your renewal rate change but we can explain why that happens. Over the past several years, we’ve made investments into improving our products, but in order to keep offering you the features that you can’t get anywhere else like free Dedicated IPs, low-cost SSL certificates, unlimited hosted domains, unlimited bandwidth, storage, FTP accounts, etc..., we occasionally have to raise our prices. We try to make these occasions as rare as possible. However, it sounds like you are still having a few problems with things like blacklists and file uploads which should be rare. Please contact our support team and reference this review so that we can take a look into these problems for you.

June 13, 2016When I started with IX Webhosting in 2009, the customer service was fantastic! It was always one of the same few people who answered and they could help me with any issue. Since then, they clearly outsource it. Now, people never understand what problem I am discussing. They are lost on the meaning of what I am saying. We clearly have language barrier issues- each time I call. It is incredibly frustrating.

TW, I'm sorry that you are having a problem communicating with our customer service. We pride ourselves on the service we provide via all of our support channels. We work closely with our phone team to make sure they have superior training and are able to handle anything that comes their way but with millions of potential issues, sometimes an agent won't be familiar with your particular one. If you've had trouble communicating with an agent or find that they aren't familiar with your issue, a manager will be happy to take a look at it and get back in touch with you.

May 23, 2016I have 2 hosting plans with them: 1 since 2011, the other one - since 2012. I made a HUGE mistake by subscribing to an Automatic renewal. Why? Because this year, we had switched to a different hosting provider 2 months before our IX Web hosting hosting plan expired (the price of the package doubled over the 3 years), but did not turn off automatic renewal. They charged the credit card. And when we approached them (the same day!) asking how we can resolve the situation, perhaps, get a refund, because we cancelled using their hosting months ago, the response was: you can cancel hosting, but you did not update the automatic renewal policy. We don't provide refunds for this. Go ahead and cancel all your accounts with us but we are keeping the money. Even though we contacted them on the 1st day of the new annual billing period. The refund policy applies for 90 days after the day of the purchase. Does not apply to renewals at all. Now, if you want to change your billing information, you can

Hello Olga, I am sorry you experienced this issue. In reviewing your account with us I see that we allowed you to change the billing period of your Expert Plan to a Monthly one, the difference was credited to your billing profile balance. And you were able to use those funds for new purchases or for the renewals of your existing products. In addition, one of our managers did try to contact you several times to see if this was satisfactory but could not get an answer nor a reply to their email. Thank you, IX Web Hosting

May 02, 2016Their recent 48+ hours crash was bad enough, but their customer service during the outage was ridiculous. They would not post global status updates. Only answer individual complaints, and many they would just ignore. I lost 2 days of email, but they would never admit it. The only way that they were will to help me if i gave them specifics of each email, sender address, date/time, etc.. Really easy for a customer provide if they never receive it! They posted on their website that the problem was resolved. Then i tell them i dont have any email, and they said it is still in queue. When I asked again, they said all was delivered and completed. When pressed, then they say well some is still in queue. Bottom line is mail was lost for 24+ hours, and they could never be forthright and honest about their mistake. I am going to find a different provider.

Hello Mike, I'm sorry that you were part of that outage. We work hard to make to minimize hardware issues that would result in downtime. Unfortunately we can't predict when a hardware failure will occur. However when it does happen, we work quickly on a resolution to minimize customer downtime and to prevent data loss. When something like this happens, the best place to stay on top of what is happening is at our status blog. You can check this at any point during an outage as we update it regularly throughout any outage. We're sorry if you are missing any email, however all the mail in the queue would have been delivered after the outage concluded. We can generally check on the mail and see what the status is unless it never made it to our server. In that case, the sender would be notified via a bounce back message.

Now eMail servers down for over 26 hours... Absolutely unacceptable. Not the first time that this has happened and now convinced that it is not the last!

Sad to see IX go. . .
I had been with IX since about 2007, and rarely had any difficulties and always had great customer service. I didn't call often, but when I did--including in the middle of the night, their tech support was always wonderfully helpful. I had few problems in all the time I was with them. The new "Site5" has NO telephone support, a confusing dashboard where you cannot have access to your billing information, and I am migrating my site to SiteGround. nay
