February 12, 2019I have recently started a new website and used their EasyWP service. It has been a couple of months, and in the meantime I haven't discovered a major problem. I love it due to its value for money, it's superfast and comes with security and free backups. Only thing where it's slow is, whenever you install a plugin from WordPress directory, it takes around 10 seconds to do that. I am not sure if it's something due to security or if it's problem with their RAM. But overall I am more than just happy to use EasyWP. I would definitely recommend it, specially when you need managed WordPress hosting in budget.

August 20, 2018Namecheap charged my card for a domain service that I thought I had canceled. I checked and I had turned off the auto-renew on the domain, but not on the associated service to the domain, which was NOT EASY to find. When I tried to get a refund for the service, they refused. They never issue refunds. Also, prices in general are quite high for renewals. They charge very little for the first year, then jack up the prices in order to renew, knowing that most people won't do the work of changing DNS providers.

January 30, 2018I have now been unable to log into my account for 3 days. I have filed a support ticket(you can do that without logging in). Unfortunately, you can not read the status of the ticket with out logging in. They keep sending me the link to the ticket page, knowing I can't login. I notice that they have labeled my ticket as "low priority" A hosting account is NO use at all if you can't access it. I suggest avoiding this company if possible.

November 16, 2017so I signed up for namecheap's easyWP to go along with my DNS hosting - and off the bat it was broken. easyWP is supposedly an integrated service - you host your DNS and then add easyWP to host the site - except -nothing, the DNS was not automatically configured, and I wasn't able to manually configure it myself because namecheap did not provide the wordpress ip address. Then after contacting support and they fixed it, I noticed occasional very slow responses (this is a very basic website, it's just an email signup landing page with a mailchimp plugin) so I hooked up an uptimerobot site monitor, and it turns out response times were often over 10 seconds!! I contacted support and complained and they said we've raised a ticket and we're looking into it. It's been a week and no word back from them. Then today - the website goes down, over 3 hours it's been down so far. Wordpress hosting! how hard can it be? too hard for namecheap apparently

September 20, 2017Happy to take your money; no idea how to run a hosting company
All their email instructions are wrong. They're so lazy they can't even be bothered to set up the hosting server themselves but leave that to the customer. In the last 7 days I've been given conflicting dns settings (all wrong), my client has wasted their money and they still don't have a worked website, the support are useless and their command of English is non-existent. I'm not a beginner (as they seem to think they can bullshit me) as I ran my own hosting company for 12 years before I retired. I have just signed my client/friend up with Hosting24.com because a) they setup everything within 12 hours, b) they're a little more expensive but know what they're doing, and c) my client now has a working site and hopefully can start making money. I have never dealt with such a useless company in 30 years of IT and I do not recommend Namecheap to anyone even with half a brain cell.

August 06, 2017So ... I switched to Namecheap because I had speed problems with my old provider. Before I signed up to their Professional Shared Hosting Plan, I spoke to them via chat, showed them my site and this is the plan they recommended. My allowance is 50 GB of disk space. Migrating my site took them days (it was horrible) and I spent hours and hours (no kidding) in support chats because a lot wasn't working as expected. About 12 of their staff have seen my website. And the size of it. They migrated it. Today I was told that (even though I have a plan with 50 GB disk space) that I have to delete data because my backup is too big. My backup is big. 12 GB big. I offer music in my WooCommerce store. It seems that hidden in the fine print it says that you are not allowed to have a backup larger than 10 GB. "Hello, Thank you for contacting Namecheap Support. First of all, we would like to point out that according to our Acceptable Use Policy, it is allowed to host no more than 10GB of archives on our shared hosting packages. More information can be found here:" What????? So I have a 50 GB disk space allowance but storing 3 HD Videos in one folder (and backing them up) is against the rules? From a moral standpoint, I feel it*s a real jerk move to sell me on a plan AFTER looking at my site and not telling me about important limitations. I am not even sure who their target client is for a plan with 50 GB of disk space who only wants to back up 9 GB. So ... after a few weeks of moving nightmare, lost files, broken links I will switch the hosting company again. I pray inmotion will do a better job at migrating and have less nonsensical rules hidden in 20 pages of fine print. I would say: I loved everything else about Namecheap. But messing up the migration and then telling me that I am not eligible for their shared hosting makes that obsolete.

June 22, 2017Namecheap started just fine, then turned to webserver. and lost all its goodness with making a dysfunctional website. Links to have them send an "Auth Code" gets nothing, and I've wasted days trying to transfer a website to a friend, and it still hasn't happen

June 06, 2017I've been a Namecheap user for a couple of years now and all was good until last week. For some unknown reason, Namecheap's email server dumped hundreds of business emails and the folders they were in. I immediately offloaded the remaining folders to another email provider. Namecheap support promised to try and retrieve them from the backup but nothing has been done to date and every answer I get is "This can take a few days". As a safety precaution, I set my Outlook to the other servers and that was extremely fortunate as a couple of days later ALL the emails disappeared. Namecheap final response was "Well, we don't offer any guarantees" This is 3 years worth of business emails that went poof! Serves me right for trying to save a few bucks! My advice, pay twice the price and find a reliable provider ... it's FAR cheaper in the end!!

March 08, 2017I registered my first namecheap domain recently and got the email setup through their private email service. About a week later purchased their hosting package and email stopped working I think because of DNS settings. I have been on their instant chat 2x now and they are quick and super helpful. I now have a basic website and my email works with their webmail and on my android phone through gmail app settings. I worked years in internet tech support, superb job namecheap.

February 28, 2017We got this account thru a third party and it was managed by a partner who recently passed away. We have since hired a company to manage our website account settings, passwords, and email. We hired several new employees and one current one was having email issues. We tasked our Support Contractor to resolve these issues and get the website access updated - with our permission, of course. Well, we and the Contractor have been going back and forth with Namecheap for over 3 months of emails (Tatyana Kozhushko-Customer Support), (Olya B-Risk Management), and (Nikita P - Risk Management) with requests for information regarding owner and having the owner send the requesting email. Each time we complied with instructions, waited for weeks to get a response, and then that response is asking for more information. This has gone on for over three months....with nothing resolved from original email dated 11-27-2016.

February 23, 2017Used Namecheap for the first time as I was looking to try a less expensive alternative to GoDaddy. The pricing is fantastic. They had great special pricing during the holiday season. However, they recommend a free service to setup your website called Canvas and this is a very low quality website builder (compared to others). I've tried to remove this service to add others and nothing seems to work. I've tried contacting them several times and there's been no response over two weeks. Admittedly, I'm an intermediate when it comes to online hosting and site building. But GoDaddy was easy and had great response times to questions. Namecheap still hasn't responded to my request two weeks later. If you know exactly what you're doing, go for it. If you're newer, I'd recommend staying away.

January 09, 2017Every time I need to register a domain and hosting, I always ended up going with Namecheap after doing some research on the best offers. They're service is fast and I feel that they give more bang for your buck, compared to the other providers. Customer service is top notch as well where I usually receive almost immediate reply to my queries. Within an hour of registration, my domain was available immediately with no issues. I'd definitely recommend Namecheap for anyone looking for a reliable registrar and hosting!

November 28, 2016I tried to purchase a deal they were having on and whilst doing so their website crashed multiple times. I eventually got to the payment where I paid for my product and then I was greeted with a "failed" screen - I checked my bank and I had already been debited the amount. I went to try again and it did exactly the same. Even though they had over 100 remaining in the deal it still return failed a third time. I spoke to their customer services team, one of whom helped me with my domain issue and I was transferred to the hosting department which wouldn't accept responsibility for the crash and wouldn't honor the deal. They tried to shift liability towards me and basically say I wasn't fast enough even though at 15:00GMT when the deal went live I tried to buy straight away, even at 15:12GMT there was over 100 in the deal left and I had tried to buy 3 times. It's such a shame because i've been a loyal customer of Namecheap for a few years and this has tainted their image for me.

October 21, 20161st time I registered I had countless problems so cancelled within 14 days, refund OK. After I went to iPage where I encountered more problems & paid much more money. The 1 advantage of iPage they have telephone contact for cost of normal call. Then I decided to return to Namecheap to try again, OK for 8 months but s soon as I transferred another Domain into same account as an add-on recently I found the add-on functions but not original site! It has been out of action for 2 weeks, during this time I've spent half my life dealing with umpteen help people, all ask for repetitive information, screenshots etc. Eventually they offered 2 months free hosting, what's the point if you can't use the account? I'm seeking a new host now, any suggestions for a reasonable price?

Best Hosting & Domain Service
Hi, Some of the best customer service I have received ever. Someone like this is a good asset to a company. I will be recommending Namecheap a lot more as a result of my interactions with customer service.
