November 03, 2018I had my account set on manual renewal. Netfirms went ahead and charged me more than $300.00 saying that my account was set to be automatically renewed. I called them back right away, and they refused to make a refund. The manager told me that it was my fault and that I cannot get my money back because it was automatically renewed. Netfirms is doomed to fail. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. Their business model is stuck in the 20th Century.

October 31, 2018I was using Netfirms for 6 years. Six months ago two domains disappeared from my control panel that I had purchased 18 months earlier. They switched the domains to a mystery account. Netfirms provides circular "support" asking for the mystery account information.... which of course, is impossible. Evidence showing the domain purchase, whois records, corporate documents, business license info etc. is completely ignored. Oddly enough my mail severs still function. Today I went to their published office 2160 Yonge St. Toronto to serve them court documents while we sue them. Netfirms is not located at their listed address. I phoned them and got another runaround. I have switched all other domain names to another provider. They say a happy customer tells three friends. An unhappy customer will tell thirty. Me, I'll tell several thousand.

August 20, 2018I would not recommend Netfirms to anyone. They used to be a decent web hosting platform several years ago. It's not the case anymore. Unacceptable load times for the website. Their technical support is awful, and unable to solve issues.

April 26, 2018Stay far far away from Netfirms and the 87 other hosting firms owned by mega hosting conglomerate called Endurance International Group. They continue to charge your credit card after you stop dealing with them. You will have to cancel your card to get away from their fees. They will send you renewal emails hoping someone in your organization will think they should renew with them even when they are not your hosting firm. They are like dealing with a biker gag. Check on Wikipedia under Endurance International Group to see all their 88 firms to avoid. Find a good independent like A2 Hosting or Rebel.ca both I use now and what a difference dealing with real American & Canadian honest companies rather than con artists like Netfirms and their brother cartel companies. How does the competition bureau even allow this ?

April 13, 2018Bad advice from their "customer service" agents caused me to lose all the files for a website they've been hosting for six years. Once upon a time it was possible to get decent support from them. Their support staff will not tell you anything. Stay away.

March 27, 2018NetFirms has been a complete disaster for our business. I have been unable to get the them to renew our SSL certificate due to an internal policy issue that must absolutely send a confirmation email to a mailbox of their choosing. Once that was created, still no email. The overseas support gang is demotivated and simply wants to offload you to the next agent on the subsequent call. Promises are made that the SSL installation will happen in the next 4 hours and then...NADA, NOTHING, NIET, ZILCH. Call again, repeat the same conversation over and over from call to call and agent to agent. That's what you will get If you sign on with these guys. Netfirms used to work well and the support team was great. That has all changed now. Do you hate your online business? Are you looking to destroy it? Netfirm is a good choice for that. Choosing Netfirms for hosting amounts to digital suicide.

They cant even tell me how to foreword my messages to Gmail, and wanted me to give them $50.00 to have a "Special" technician help me. Eventually I figured it out, but it doesn't work. Am looking to move my domain soon. Crooks

January 18, 2018Been a metfirms customer for close to 5 years. At the beginning they had it, customer service was good, technical support was also good. Now they moved their customer service to India. Customer service and Tech support went south. I had problems with my emails, they didn’t know what was going on, after close to 10 calls the started blaming Google. Today I found out that a domain expired because for some reason it didn’t renew, if I want it back they will charge me $99.00 + $13.00 in fees. I have around 15 domains with them + 2 hosting accounts and I had it with them, I’m going to move to ipage. If you are a new user it might work for a while, then you are going to get very upset, I guarantee that as soon as you need technical support they will drive you mad.

December 06, 2017There are no words to properly describe the unreliability and ineptitude of this company. They have literally cost me 100's of hours on the phone and online chat with their so called "Service" reps (who actually have no real in-depth knowledge of their system) and they have lost 1000's of my business related emails (They told me after day 10 of dealing with an outage, that they only kept backups for 7 days). I don't want to ramble on and go into specifics because it would be too long but PLEASE do yourself a favour and stay WELL AWAY from this company.

September 16, 2017I've dealt with Netfirms for many years, just as may of these other reviewers. Emails go un-answered, dealing with them via online chat takes 30-40 minutes, with slim chance of resolving the issue. Their uptime isn't anywhere near what they guarantee. The last strike for me was a fraudulent charge to my credit card. It was an automatic renewal of domain registration, for a domain that I had set to "MANUAL" renewal. I received no notification of the charge. Once I discovered the charge on my bill, I contacted them, they refused to fully refund it. What should have been a quick "no problem sir" chat, turned into 50 minutes which wasted nearly half my Saturday afternoon. I then had to dispute the charge with my Credit Card Company. Finally, they charge in US Dollars (despite being a Canadian Company!) but they don't note that their fees are in US dollars on their website. So, you have an extra 35-40% exchange rate on what they advertise. This is not a business that is honest and up-front about their practices. You get cheap hosting/domain registration -- both in price and service. And you'll spend more of your time than you bargain with these guys. (What's your time worth?)

June 06, 2017I've dealt with Netfirms for many years, and had 8 clients use their hosting service. My last client will be moved off within 2-3 months. Emails go answered, and dealing with online chat takes 30-40 minutes, with no guarantee of resolving the issue.. Their uptime isn't close to what they guarantee. February 20, 2017first of all it is so difficult to understand and use their site. their live chat SUCKS and is so useless, they take so long to answer. before the chat they ask u for so much info, but once a staff is connected they ask you the same questions again... i've had so many problems with their chat where i'm typing a message and it won't send. you're a hosting company and your own live chat doesn't even work. i've asked 3 times why the pointer on a website doesnt work (i did the exact same thing to 4 other websites and it worked except for one) and they said they updated the DNS but didn't give me further instructions, and it still doesn't work. all in all it's an ugly, hard to use website and you will find way better ones out there. you won't get easy help either so don't even bother asking questions, just switch to another domain host please.

February 10, 2017Do not use them! Our work emails have had bounce backs for years and they can't fix the problem. They just give us the run around blaming others. At one point they basically said the people getting bounce back were spammers...my clients and landlord are definitely not spammers. Their level 1 tech support has no idea what is going and you are not allowed to talk to managers or higher level support. I believe they just don't have a robust enough infrastructure or there is something they are cheaping out on so when there is high volume of emails their server gets choked. Don't risk your clients getting bounce backs and you looking like an amateur.

I called within 2 minutes of receiving the e-mails even though I'd contacted them before about cancelling automatic renewal. They customer service rep, told me they don't offer refunds no matter how soon you call and that I'm "legally bound" and if I wanted my money back I could go right ahead and sue.....and then when I asked to speak to his manager he hung up.

When you renew, if you start on the Canadian side you are switched mid-purchase to the American side, and charged in US funds with no warning. Its unacceptable. Im moving all my domains. I've had enough of these clowns.

November 24, 2016We've been with Netfirms for approximately 8 years. They continue to charge for "PRIVACY" for our domains even though it clearly indicates "N/A" or "Disabled". They did this to us in 2015 and said "we cannot refund your credit card, but we'll put a credit on your account. Now in November 2016 they charged our credit card multiple times for "Privacy" for Domains that had long since expired. In writing we asked what happened to the credit guaranteed to us. No response. We asked about all the unauthorized charges - no response. WARNING: DO NOT give Netfirms your credit card information after making a purchase through them unless you like to have unauthorized charges on your account.

Worst company ever!
Worst company ever! After 13 years of loyalty and 40 domains names, no recognition and discovered that they make many errors in the billing and they won't refund anything despite their error. Avoid this shitty company at all costs! even when they give you credit, you won’t be able to view the available credits in your account. Is this normal ? What a waste of money and time. I wish you a happy new shit and you deserve the worst.
