November 24, 2019Had a bad experience with GoDaddy? I want to hear from you. I was a faithful GoDaddy customer for 13 years, but after finally getting fed up with their ever-changing terms of service, inadequate tech support and their constant, early billing and product cancellation threats, I decided to move my web hosting and five domain registrations to a different company. That’s when the real trouble began. GoDaddy stood in my way at every possible turn. After I followed all of their domain transfer instructions, they would e-mail me the necessary transfer codes, and then later claim, for unspecified reasons, that they could not process the transfers. (By this time, they had taken down all of my websites and said I would have to open a new GoDaddy account before my sites could be restored.) Then they told me I first had to remove Domain Privacy from each of my websites (falsely claiming that this was an ICANN requirement). GoDaddy thus forced me to place all my personal information, cell phone number, home and e-mail addresses on the web for for an indeterminate timeframe, accessible by potentially every spammer and identity thief in the world. GoDaddy then claimed there was a 2-week waiting period before the transfers could be performed. In addition, GoDaddy falsely denied being the Registrar of Contact. I legally recorded GoDaddy’s lies under California penal code 633.5, and those recordings are court-admissible evidence. If you have had a bad experience with GoDaddy and would like to join me in Class Action against them, please contact me. I have all the necessary documentation to initiate long-overdue legal proceedings against this awful company. Thank you.

October 29, 2019Customer support is horrible and could not fix my business emails issue (No incoming mail since last week. I called 2 times and they could not fix the problem) . Any discount offers they send are only for new orders not renewals. Every 2 years I pay $482.33 for only one website and one email: Website Security Essential $182.23 USD Deluxe Linux Hosting with cPanel Renewal $263.76 USD .COM Domain Renewal $36.34 USD They offer good prices for your first order then that's what you'd be paying Look for other businesses.

October 24, 2019This company is totally about money. They have no concern for their customers. Every phone call is an attempt to up-sale and every product has a dark side. They do nothing more than sell your information while having you believe they are attempting to give you service. There are much cheaper and better services available. Take a few minutes to shop. You will thank me in the long run.

October 21, 2019GoDaddy is good for one thing and one thing only: domain registration. For hosting, unless you're a dedicated web tech, you can never keep up with all the disjointed updates on WordPress, so your site keeps breaking. And if you ask for Business Premium, you're in for a real treat if you already have just Outlook: once you've ordered Business Premium, they threaten to remove your email addresses if you try to cancel. I've already moved my site host and now my email host. Hopefully, that will release the Microsoft account so I can order Office independently of this racket.

October 19, 2019GoDaddy just SUCKS! They sound inexpensive at first. They are not! they are ridiculously expensive. Just wait for an auto-renewal, they will sneak in a nice price hike "after your promotion ended". Terrible business model! They charged me an "auto-renewal", and since I wasn't expecting it, I didn't check my business credit card account. I found out when I got the late fee notification by mail from the credit card company. At times like this, that amazon AWS charges cents for hosting ... this guys at GoDaddy auto-charged me over $600 dollars for "shared hosting" (your site in the same server along with hundred others competing for resources) Called customer service. They just made me laugh: - they couldn't refund me because 30 days had passed. Of course! I didn't know they had charged me. - the rep: named Landon (didn't want to provide last name) literally said: since you already (forcibly) paid for it, you might as well use it. Just save yourself some headache. Stay away from this clown business.

August 09, 2019The redemption fee charge is a scam if a customer mistakenly orders a product ten wants to cancel, there are no incentives to the customer for a full refund. How can you take a redemption fee if a product is no longer redeemed? The cut throat lack of customer service is horrible. The business must be run in a greedy fashion to continue to thrive. Sad. Not a reputable company at all. Don’t support these crooks and spread the word. Each review helps. Each one teach one.

July 01, 2019PLEASE DO NOT USE GODADDY. 1. The service is really bad 2. They give wrong information 3. You need to have the right information so you can insist that what they tell you is wrong, otherwise they will insist with the wrong information 4. Their tech support aren’t good, they cannot resolve their own server issue 5. The support team is very unhelpful, not supportive of your issue and they just don’t care We transferred our domain to GoDaddy 10th June 2019, for some reason GoDaddy cannot resolve the DNS issue thus resulting to our website down for more than 3 weeks and some emails not coming through. We called GoDaddy for support, they configured DNS multiple times but was not able to resolve the issue after all. We requested for GoDaddy to lift the lock so we can move to a private server but they advised us to contact ICANN because ICANN can only lift the lock, when we called ICANN, they clarified, provided us with the policy and it turns out, this should be from GoDaddy. We contacted GoDaddy again, told us the same information and insisted that only ICANN can lift the lock, until I provided the email from ICANN and the policy clauses. They put me on hold for more than 10 mins and told that there is nothing they can do about it, we have to wait for 60 days even after I explained the reason of transfer. They did not offer to look into it etc. I advised that ICANN advised me to send a complaint re this, and the customer support agreed and just said “okay that’s fine”.

July 01, 2019I asked five support personal over five phone call's while I had them on the phone for one thing or another. They were asked if when I moved my URL if my website would come over the way it was at the host I was leaving. One of the teck support people told me on one phone call that it would be the same as it was at the old host. Today I called 6/30/19 and another told me no it would have to be built from scratch. I informed him (and by the way they were selling me all sorts of programs that I was told I would need to have. But today I was told that it as I said have to be a new build. I told him what the other guy told me in a 45 min. phone call that it would come over the way it was. He told me that he could not have told me that as it is not true. He then went and said he was going to have a supervisor check the call I had with the guy who told me that it would come over the way I have it at Wix.com. He came back in 5 min and told me that they checked the 45 min call in 5 min and that the guy did not say what I had told him the man told me. And that the sale of 20 dollars and change would not be refunded to me as it was never told to me as I said it was told to me. As far as I can tell you run, run like hell from Go Daddy all they do is keep selling you something saying you have to have it. In one day they scammed us out over 50 dollars for things they told us we needed. But the main problem is that lie like hell about what they say and think your to stupid to know what was told to you. There is no way you can listen to a full 45 min call in just 5 min. Run, run fast from them. We are going to contact our Attorney in the morning over what they have done to us with there telling you lies to get you to buy something else.

May 20, 2019If your hoping to do a online store in different languages you will be disappointed. They always say they are working on a solution to the templates not being available in the language you want to use. A lot of the format can be changed but the important stuff needed during the customer shopping cart purchase area is simply not available. The e-reply when the customer has made a purchase is also not able to change language. So considering the cost associated with a go daddy website it is simply not worth it. It is nothing personal. They simply are not committed to doing the development needed to keep up with a global economy. They take the easy money with little research and development or investment. Also people can't lIke your pages They say they are wor king on a fix. They also say they will get back to you with news. They dont. The only time you hear from them is to get money. Yes they can go to your social media platforms. But it is 2019 and people want to share and like whatever they want. Go daddy is behind the times and desperately needs young blood to deliver what people are looking for.... People liking and sharing your stuff is the way things are done. Not with go daddy. They are so far behind for such a big company. If you need a simple store for your business in your city go daddy will suit your needs. If you want to expand they just might not be up to the challenge

May 06, 2019I woke this morning to discover the email service i had enjoyed for the past 5 years disconnected. No notification or warning. On contacting GoDaddy customer service i was told the freebie 5 years had expired and it was in the original agreement that incidentally they could not find a copy of that usage would cease without notice. On a separate issue i was billed twice for the same domain name and paid twice. They would not refund my overpayment as there system didn't have that flexibility. Overall a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I would not recommend anybody uses their service.

May 02, 2019Been with GoDaddy for 7 years. Started out ok. But as competition came in, they started to get dollar happy. I renewed a few emails and domains, but kept getting notices that "renewal failed". So I renewed again. Thing is that their notice applied to services that i did not want to renew. When I found that out, I went back to GoDaddy and informed them of the misleading notices and asked them to credit me for the second renewal that i did not want since it extended my renewal by another year. They said they cannot reverse the charges. i called my bank to cancel the second charge. Then I got a notice that all my email accounts have been deactivated. I called GoDaddy to find out what happened. They said that since the second charge was canceled, they canceled everything. So, I had to renew again and to make matters worse, they even charged me $50 bank fee for the declined second charge. My suggestion is DO NOT use GoDaddy. People tell me that Square Space is much better with better web site builders and much cheaper. I would give them zero starts if possible. STAY AWAY FROM GODADDY !!!

May 02, 2019Bad Product Knowledge, unhelpful to solve problem they caused. I am a local business. I needed a ".com.au" domain. But they took advantage of my lack of knowledge, and sold me a ".net" - knowing fully well that I am a local wellness and counselling business, not a telephony. They sold me 3 years' worth of it!! A request for refund was ignored again and again!

May 01, 2019What a total bunch of pirates. They will continue to charge for services I specifically asked to have removed. They set up 5 year automatic payments then give zero grace period if the payment method is expired by the bank in that time. They then serve up ($100+) charges to get the site back up. When asked to talk to management I get the ole plank walk (they call it a ticket). When asked for a mailing address I get the old "We aren't at liberty" 14455 N Hayden Rd. Ste. 219 Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Apparently Google is at liberty. I wonder if they do web hosting.

April 28, 2019Any other hosting is better than GODADDY.COM. Once you purchase the most expensive hosting with UNLIMITED space the hidden things pop up. You work hard to accumulate or put together your content, data and resources for your website and upload to the server. They will suddenly SUSPEND your account not only the one but ALL websites under that account. You will get an email with a list of folders forcing you to delete them or your account will remain suspended. I was FORCED to remove a 3.8 gig folder because they said it was too big and they will not reinstate my account otherwise. You will be FORCED to purchase a DEDICATED server to host those files. Be aware of this new way to make money. The technical service sucks too you have to hold for 45 minutes before minimum wage employee with no idea will come on the phone who will repeat the same thing over and over and over, with no immediate resolution to your problem. You have to call several times to get things working. Most of the time their servers are down I’ve had to call so many times asking why my site was down. Same answer every time “We are sorry we are working on it”. They have the most unreliable software installed, most of the time WordPress doesn’t even work. Their biggest problem if running xml database files, let me not begin on simple php and java scripts have to be loaded. When you call them, they will blame right back at you “You have to follow proper procedure to make them work, you can delete and re-install, we don’t provide software support, if you like a professional we can hook you with someone for $75 an hour.” Godaddy.com started great in late 2000 but it is worn out now, check their stock on Nasdaq they are all downhill. In conclusion ANYONE IS BETTER THAN Godaddy.com.

April 11, 2019I've had a number of domains registered with GoDaddy for nearly 20 years. The tech support was terrific much of that time. This week we decided that we needed to get the email on two of our domains to synchronize between our devices and computers using an IMAP configuration. Trying to set it up got nothing but errors even though I was applying the settings as described on the GoDaddy site. After going through a lot of misinformation on the site I discovered info indicating that we needed to convert the free email accounts with those domains to either Personal or Business paid accounts in order to use IMAP. Finding how to upgrade to either proved impossible so I phoned support. I was told the Personal was no longer available and that I'd need to buy an Unlimited Business Email package with the caveat that it would become obsolete within the next couple of years. The package was $120 for five email accounts and included unlimited storage. I bought that and got one of our accounts up and working perfectly right away. The second kept having issues with the server rejecting the username when I tried sending email from a computer although it worked on two devices. After more effort the next day I called support again to resolve this issue. The overly patronizing agent asked me to log in to the browser based account to be sure that would work and have me send him an email from it. I entered "Test" as the subject and got lectured on the reasons not to do that. The email did get through though and I was told that showed it was all okay and that the problem was in my software and he couldn't help me with that since "they hadn't sold the IMAP package I had for over five years." I pointed out that I had just purchased it 24 hours earlier and he said it shouldn't have been sold to me. Instead I should buy a $360 per year plan. ( In retrospect it appears that the $360 he quoted me was for their Business Hosting with a Virtual Private Server when all I wanted is upgraded email. ) At that point I was clearly irritated but under control even when he told me not "to be that guy". But it became obvious that he had no interest in helping resolve my issue. He was there to sell. GoDaddy records the support sessions and I can only hope that someone listens to that most unsatisfactory call. I've got his email address so they can clearly identify him. Today I resolved the problem on my own and I have the IMAP email working. Meantime I'm making plans to move all of our domains from GoDaddy.

April 03, 2019Everytime I've brought up a problem, Go daddy has basically told me to submit a ticket for 100$. Thanks for nothing, I used to get genuine help from their support staff, now it's just you need to submit a ticket. Thanks for nothing Godaddy. AVOID THEM, also on a side note, they don't let you use 3rd party plugins like w3 total cache to cache your website. You have to pay for it.

March 16, 2019Refused refund of unused services after they did not provide adequate service in the first place.
I prepaid for 5 years of hosting. After about 6 months, my website was going down all the time. They would not correct it. They typically blamed my website for this. I moved hosting to a reliable hosting company. I requested cancellation and a refund of my unused (prepaid) services. They refused to refund. They only refund prepaid within 30 days of commencement of services. The terms they sent me in the refund discussion were not disclosed at time of purchase and I noticed they are less than one year old. Essentially, they ripped me off, planned to rip me off by not providing reliable service to begin with and have since implemented a theft policy applicable to all customers.

March 04, 2019I started hosting with Godaddy 8 years ago and every year they would raise the price on me so much and I would have to call in and negotiate the rate and always felt taken advantage of. I started having major issues when I couldn't send or receive emails to my sons school no matter what I did. It also started happening with friends and invites. I called them and they said I needed to pay money to upgrade in order to fix this..... really? Upgrade just so I can send and receive emails? I started using gmail as my main email for school and such and rarely used my godaddy email anymore but would still check it just in case an important email came through. My plan was to let my subscription run out- that's how much I hate dealing with them. Trying to transfer it over had become a nightmare. So a month before the subscription was up, I wasn't able to log into my account! I changed the password and it worked for a day or so, then blocked me out again saying something was wrong. At the same time I kept receiving emails on my gmail on how I needed to update my billing info. I'm sure they were doing this on purpose so I could call in and give them my updated credit card info. This company is very unethical. Will never use them again. Literally the worst company I have ever dealt with.

February 08, 2019I have been with GoDaddy for 12 years. However, they have become very aggressive with their sales. Every time I call tech support I get sold.. Just yesterday: "Oh you can't renew your SSL certificate, but we have a team that will do for $40. It ever ends. Goodbye GoDaddy

February 05, 2019Nicoletta was so polite and calm on the phone, her mannerism was already awesome and would have left me happy. But to put the cherry ontop, she resolved a account merging issue for me in under 5 minutes. That was remarkable, and completely exceeded my expectations! Thanks guys.

January 29, 2019This hosting company will grab your domain name if you accidentally fail to update your card details. They won't let you make one teensy weensy mistake after you've been a customer for a decade. Do yourself a favour and avoid them

January 14, 2019I purchased a domain from GoDaddy and then got an offer from a buyer that I knew but didn’t trust. GoDaddy told me they would sell the domain anonymously for me. They charged me for this service. The person that wanted the domain bought the domain and then promptly called me to tell me that GoDaddy told them I was the owner and then gave them my contact number!!! I called godaddy about this and was met with a foreign person that couldn’t understand anything I was typing, so I called and spoke to some smug kid that was talking to me like I’m an idiot. He even laughed at me when I told him my safety was in jeopardy now that this crazy person has my info. He could not have cared less. Not to mention it took two weeks for GoDaddy to process my payment. I’m moving all my domains. DO NOT TRUST GO DADDY. Awful customer service, and Data Leaks / Privacy violations are the norm here.

January 05, 2019Every time I reached out to tech support they asked me to buy stuff I didn't need. When I had problems with my email, they said its because my domain wasn't registered on their platform. Don't give them your money.

December 14, 2018Seriously the worst support I've ever experienced. It's almost criminal and at a minimum unethical. I'm a digital marketer and very tech savvy. From time to time I need to access clients godaddy accounts and not one time has it been easy. Its always *at least* a 30 minute wait to get with support. Then they're no help whatsoever and try to upsell you on every little detail. I asked the guy to deactivate a plugin (long story but I couldn't access the dashboard and he was already in it). He literally said "sorry, I'm not a WordPress developer..." I'm like, its a button you press bud - not rocket science. He then offered to sell me a support package for the plugin to be turned off which was $50...Maybe that works for the many customers you're unethically taking advantage of but I'll just click the button when I get back and save the $50. As I'm writing this review even, I've been on hold for the last 30 minutes and I'm still #13 in line for an update that's making it impossible to log into my clients site. If you're considering godaddy, let me give you my 2 cents - I've built many, MANY websites and worked with all different hosting providers. Godaddy is the absolute last one I would ever use. Siteground and wpx hosting are the best in my experience. Siteground customer support has never taken more than 1 minute to have me chatting with someone. On top of that, its SSL hosting (faster than godaddy) and cheaper.

December 01, 2018I have been a GoDaddy client for 10 years. Last year I moved my hosting to different provider, leaving my email service with GoDaddy. I called GoDaddy three weeks ago to confirm that if I do not renew my hosting, my emails will not be removed from service. I was told that if I move my emails to an existing service that I had, they would remain. I did that and today the emails went dark. I spoke with customer support and their solution was to pay $960 per year to migrate to Office 360, or pay $400 to stay at GoDaddy. Mind you the renewal for the hosting was only $149!! After a few calls and escalations, there was not a viable solution afforded. Very poor customer service. I would recommend Host Gator instead.

November 16, 2018They charged me $3,500 to build and complete and host a website. A full year later, they have not completed anything yet, and have told me they want to charge more money now to complete it. They are dishonest, unresponsive, thieves! I will never use them again!

November 15, 2018Everything you do with this company will require constant upcharge. They are ridiculously expensive because they charge for even things that are basic - like switch domain internally cost you money. I am ready to switch. When company become big like they, the crash is going to be big too if they continue treat their customer ONLY what's good for them. I have 10 website with them and def. switching since my experience is getting worse and worse

November 13, 2018I canceled a product that I did not want and had purchased minutes ago. It was the Microsoft Office Suite. The company gave me store credit. I was slightly against that practice but since I purchased the product on my own I made that mistake so I dealt with it and had no complaints. While dealing with the store credit to apply them to the renewal fees, I was guided to apply payments and I did. It worked. I hit the complete purchase to finish out of the screen, and it applied an additional $45 to my pending payments not due for 3 more months. Now that $45 fee was not something I had wanted to pay nor was trying to do; it was not due for another 3 months, why would I pay them 3 months early for no reason? I would not. The rep knew this as I was talking to her while she was explaining how to pay with the store credit. After this mistake was made, they would not refund the balance to my card without me canceling a product. I was very disappointed and ended up canceling several domain names that I'd purchased with them through the years just to get my money back and will not be buying any more domains from GoDaddy in the future. Once you've paid, your money is theirs unless you decide to completely leave. Also, no pro-rated refunds. So if you paid for 12 months and wanted to cancel the policy in 6 months, you will not be credited for the remaining months that you had previously paid for. Be very careful before you click the purchase button!

November 10, 2018don't use their godaddy professional web site services. they charge $3k and don't finish it for you. they give you useless tutorials or offer to finish it for an additional cost. i payed the additional cost and they still got it wrong. so they , you guessed it, wanted me to pay for another update. they'll string you along until it's too late to dispute the charge with your credit card company. godaddy professional services takes a week to make any changes and those changes will be wrong, guaranteed. you will never talk to a website developer, only their front men who will put in the wrong request for you and charge you for their mistake. ONce godaddy gets your $3000 , they don't care

November 08, 2018They scammed me by keep auto-renew option "on" by default. Also to stop them from stealing your credit card data you have to delete the domain you already paid for. Worst company ever to buy any domain or hosting.

Domain Auction unfair practices
I was using godaddy auction service and 2 different times I was locked out and unable to login back in to godaddy auctions (login form was simply unavailable and not viewable) to increase my bid on a domain name minutes before the auction ended and couldn't login (view the login form) until minutes after the auction ended. If this happened once it would or could be a coincidence, but twice shows unfair business practices and manipulating the bidding process to favor someone else. I went through the email system asking them to at least address this problem but was told nothing could be done at all, not even an apology was given. This is pure fabrication of information because they could make this right and could relist the auction and allow fair bidding, but they simply chose not to be bothered by this.
