November 16, 2019Webhostinghub's customer support is unusually good. Yesterday I had a technical problem, and needed to contact customer support. I clicked the 'chat' button, and a representative answered quickly, addressed my issues efficiently, was nice and friendly, and made some additional useful suggestions. Nothing extraordinary perhaps, but a lot more than I've come to expect from far too many service providers.

October 05, 2019Called 24/7 tech support and a tech showed me how I can save money using add-on domains and free SSL certificates, and helped me do it. I have never seen the site down, and they use solid state drives for fast downloads.

June 21, 2017I left Web Hosting Hub because they don't support Let's Encrypt. They blamed it on cPanel. I went to another cPanel hosting company that supports Let's Encrypt and, in fact, installs certificates within minutes of requesting it, updates them automatically, and costs less than Web Hosting Hub. WHH tech support is mostly good except for the LE cert. There are numerous cPanel hosts that provide LE support.

I've used a few hosting companies. Most are sub-standard. I've also dealt with a lot of companies in general; most talk about customers being important to them, but their customer service doesn't reflect that. WebHostingHub are the exception. I use them - and recommend them to others - because their customer service and support, both in documentation and, crucially, in live chat, are absolutely outstanding. When you have a problem with your website, or your hosting, you need it sorted there and then. And they are there, whenever you want them; 24/7. As usual, when I called, the person at the other end was helpful, human, and humorous. Jesse could not have been more responsive -- and he did so in a way that didn't make me feel stupid. He also told me about some additional services without seeming like a sales guy and truly like he was educating me to some options.

January 12, 2017I signed up with them and something about the system I am running (Yosemite, running Chrome) did not play well with theirs. I'd enter the correct info into the login page for their account management panel and... the site would just reload. Their tech support suggested I try a different browser... but what's the point of me using a different browser than the one I use for everything else just to make their site work? This also gave me little faith in the ability of their product to host usable websites. To their credit, they gave me a refund without argument.

December 29, 2016For a digital dinosaur like me making your own website is the steepest learning curve ever. I needed to contact the help desk chat often. Most assistants are extremely patient and helpful and keep their language at my level of ignorance. Only a couple tried to dump code on me, which I threw right back at them. Mostly my experiences with the chat help desk are very positive, getting almost all problems solved within the session, and answers to all my beginner's questions. December 19, 2016My simple website (using WordPress) was hacked 3 times. The first two times I did everything they told me to do. The 3rd time they referred me to an outside security firm. I don't have the money for that. I told them I would make a backup of my content, then close my account. They closed my account before I was able to make a backup! Earlier in my experience nobody in Canada could access my site because the Canadian authorities suspected there was illegal content on some other website that Web Hub hosted that shared my IP address. The only way to resolve this was to pay more for my own IP address.
